Roman Reigns will once again be a major topic of discussion as WWE gets ready for its upcoming episode of RAW. With new challengers emerging after Money in the Bank and the World Heavyweight Championship scene getting more competitive, Reigns has a lot to watch in the coming weeks.
The October 19 episode of Monday Night RAW will mark Reigns’ first appearance on the red brand since his victory over LA Knight at MITB. Meanwhile, this week’s RAW announced an important match for next week.
Roman Reigns, JD McDonagh vs. Joe Hendry announced for next week’s WWE RAW
WWE has so far announced the following lineup for next Monday’s show:
- Roman Reigns’ appearance
- JD McDonagh vs. Joe Hendry
Reigns will return to RAW, a week after successfully defending the World Heavyweight Championship on October 10. However, he has several issues to deal with now.
The champion is expected to address his upcoming match against Sami Zayn at WWE Crown Jewel. Reigns also has other potential challengers to worry about, including Oba Femi, who has made his intentions clear by warning the OTC that there would be “no more running.”
After defeating Knight at MITB, Reigns stated that the World Heavyweight Championship remains his top priority. He also discussed the ongoing issues of The Bloodline and 946.
Joe Hendry and JD McDonagh will also face each other in a singles match on the October 19 episode of RAW. Hendry has repeatedly made fun of McDonagh’s head size. His jokes have included a musical roast and a mockumentary suggesting that The Judgment Day member looked the way he did because his mother fell in love with a giant Funko Pop.
The jokes have also led to physical confrontations. During an earlier match between the two, Je’Von Evans interfered while wearing an oversized Funko Pop head modeled after McDonagh. The distraction helped Hendry pick up the win.
Their rivalry continued during the October 12 episode of RAW. A man wearing a JD McDonagh Funko Pop head appeared and gave WWE commentators the action figures of McDonagh’s Funko Pop.
McDonagh came out frustrated. He first took aim at the commentators before trying to confront the person inside the costume. The Funko Pop man hit McDonagh and started running away. However, he hit the entrance screen and fell off while trying to escape. McDonagh attacked him and tried to pull it back.
Joe Hendry then arrived, and a brawl between him and McDonagh began. Hendry came out on top once again, knocking McDonagh out of the ring with a clothesline.
Now, the two will get a chance to settle their rivalry in an official singles match next Monday.
