OUR ultra-competitive EFL League Two returns to a full programme of fixtures this weekend following the depleted international break offerings.

Three teams remain unbeaten thus far and merely three points cover the 11 leading sides. Accordingly, League Two betting is ever popular.

Here is my considered analysis of the upcoming fixtures with score predictions to assist your football betting…

Swindon Town v Crewe Alexandra Prediction

    • Kick-off: 12.30pm
    • Rankings: 13th versus 3rd

Swindon Town preview – Undefeated at home throughout 2026/27 but dropping three points below Play-Off discussions reflecting four winless matches.

Their boss Ian Holloway has described himself as a “dead man walking” in terms of job security due to 13 players ruled out injured.

Crewe Alexandra preview – Still unbeaten although six of the nine EFL encounters have resulted in draws. Nicely poised one point off pole position.

    Score prediction: Alex abundant 2-0.

Cheltenham Town v Salford City Prediction

    • Kick-off: 3pm
    • Rankings: 4th versus 1st

Cheltenham Town preview – Outside the automatic promotion rungs on goal difference. Last Saturday’s 2-0 reverse at Accrington Stanley was a first defeat in seven EFL affairs.

Yet to lose on home soil though. Charlie McCann is League Two’s foremost scorer amassing seven goals.

Salford City preview – Hit the front thanks to last Saturday’s 1-0 home triumph over Fleetwood Town. That made it five wins across six unconquered outings. However they need to improve on a single away victory.

    Score prediction: Uptight 1-1.

    Bristol Rovers v Barnet Prediction

    • Kick-off: 3pm
    • Rankings: 5th versus 2nd

Bristol Rovers preview – Currently protecting a magnificent club record run embracing 11 consecutive home victories. Now one point shy of top spot after three defeats (all away) within four EFL games.

Barnet preview – Above Saturday’s hosts on goal difference. Barnet are actually unbeaten amid 16 League engagements since Saturday 14th March when they went down 2-1 at home to Newport County.

    Score prediction: Rip-roaring 3-3.

York City v Northampton Town Prediction

    • Kick-off: 3pm
    • Rankings: 6th versus 22nd

York City preview – Four straight home wins this season. Even so, patchy away form sees York two points behind the leaders.

Northampton Town preview – Two successive defeats leave Cobblers one point ahead of the dreaded dotted relegation line. In fact, their solitary 2026/27 win was 1-0 against visitors Newport County on Saturday 5th September.

    Score prediction: York yummy 5-0.

    Fleetwood Town v Walsall Prediction

    • Kick-off: 3pm
    • Rankings: 18th versus 7th

Fleetwood Town preview – Four matches bereft of maximum points losing the past three.

Walsall preview – Two points under first place. The Saddlers are unbeaten to date registering three EFL wins and five draws.

    Score prediction: Walsall wholesome 3-1.

Rest of the weekend’s EFL League Two score predictions:

    • Oldham Athletic v Accrington Stanley: 2-3
    • Crawley Town v Chesterfield: 0-4
    • Newport County v Colchester United: 2-1
    • Port Vale v Grimsby Town: 0-2
    • Rotherham United v Gillingham: 1-3
    • Shrewsbury Town v Exeter City: 4-2
    • Tranmere Rovers v Rochdale: 0-0
