Netflix has quietly made an unexpected change for WWE fans, removing the custom Superstar profile icons that had become available on the streaming platform.

The switch has left some longtime users wondering why their carefully chosen WWE avatars suddenly disappeared.

The icons were introduced in early 2025 around the arrival of WWE Raw on Netflix in many markets.

Fans could select profile images featuring WWE Superstars and legends, including John Cena, CM Punk, Rhea Ripley and Rey Mysterio.

Netflix removes WWE profile icons without explanation

Netflix has now replaced those custom WWE options with standard profile icons. Users who had already selected a WWE Superstar icon have also reportedly seen their profiles automatically revert to the default options.

No official explanation for the decision has come to light. The change also doesn’t indicate that WWE’s relationship with Netflix has ended, with WWE programming continuing on the platform.

One possibility is that Netflix could be preparing an updated collection of WWE profile images, but that remains speculation. For now, the icons have simply gone from the menu — making this one profile change that hasn’t exactly received a championship celebration.

Fans quickly voiced their frustration on social media.

“Yes. I noticed that when I signed on to watch Raw. I had that generic photo instead of Cody,” @FairyDaizie wrote.

“Fk Netflix first they censor our show then remove our icons smh**,” @EliteClubS0B posted.

Meanwhile, @GaminWithJeremy questioned why even previously selected icons disappeared, writing: “Lowk weird that it has been completely removed even if it’s equipped.”

The timing has added to the reaction, particularly after recent criticism surrounding Netflix’s handling of WWE broadcasts. Whether the Superstar icons return, receive an updated lineup, or remain off the platform is currently unknown.
