Triple H thought Stephanie Vaquer winning the WWE Women’s World Championship in Chile was a moment worth celebrating. A number of fans saw his post and immediately told him exactly why they thought it wasn’t.
One fan took to Twitter and made it clear they couldn’t get past WWE changing a major championship at an untelevised live event, especially with the company presenting the result as such a huge moment afterwards.
“Your company is a f***** joke. This happened at a house show that nobody saw and you guys are making it a big deal like it’s a wow moment.”
Another fan actually loved the decision to have Vaquer win in her home country. Their problem was entirely with Becky Lynch deciding the outcome as special guest referee.
“Having Steph win in Chile, brilliant. Having Steph win by ref Becky not calling it, terrible.”
Liv Morgan fans weren’t exactly thrilled either. One put the blame directly on Triple H for having Morgan lose the championship that way.
“No way Liv should lose like that. Trash HHH.”
Another response went much further, bringing Blake Monroe into the criticism while unloading on WWE’s creative direction.
“Kiss my ass. You disrespect Blake and now Liv. Trash booking, dogshit creative, and a piss poor slop entertainment. I’m done watching this trash.”
Triple H’s own excitement over the title change also became a target. One fan even worked his new hairstyle into a lengthy shot at WWE’s current product.
“You’re excited about that?? Come onn. You’d think with your new hair you’d come up with some creative ideas. Remember exciting matches? Bring those back. Remember loud pops?? Bring those back. Which would mean CLEARLY WATCHING WHEN THE SHOULDER IS UP.”
Another fan wasn’t predicting a particularly long second reign for Vaquer after seeing how she captured the championship.
“Couldn’t even have her win clean? She’s dropping that title in a month.”
All of those reactions came after Triple H posted footage of Vaquer defeating Morgan at WWE’s September 12 live event in Santiago. He kept his celebration short after watching Vaquer become champion in front of her home-country crowd.
“What. A. Moment. #AndNew #WWESantiago”
The finish gave fans plenty to argue about. Morgan hit Oblivion and appeared to have Vaquer beaten, but special guest referee Lynch stopped her count at two and gave Morgan the middle finger. Vaquer took advantage, hitting the SVB and Vaquer Inferno to capture the title.
The win makes Vaquer a two-time WWE Women’s World Champion and ends Morgan’s reign after 148 days. Vaquer getting that moment in Chile was clearly something WWE wanted to make special, but the combination of a live-event title change and Lynch directly affecting the result left Triple H’s celebration with a very divided reception.
