‘A line has been crossed’ – Man Utd fans announce protest plans ahead of the Manchester derby on Sunday afternoon.

The Manchester United supporters’ group, “The 1958”, say that the protest aims to express opposition at the club’s management’s actions towards long-time loyal fans.

That includes the club issuing sanctions and bans, and The 1958 claim current owners want to get rid of people who have been attending games their whole lives.

These owners want rid of lifelong matchgoers. Their strategy is clear to see. It’s a cull!

We challenged them. We demanded the unproven suspensions stop.

    They haven’t listened.

SHOW THE EVIDENCE OR LIFT THE BANS

    No more threats.
    No more draconian sanctions.
No more treating loyal Reds like criminals.

This is not somebody else’s fight. It’s ours as matchgoers. Or soon, it’ll be us.

Then we head to the ground.

Every Red. Every group. Every generation.

    STAND WITH YOUR FELLOW REDS.

Bully and ban timed served Reds.

Then flog those tickets online for commercial gain.

“Manchester United. The worlds biggest ticket touts”

    What a club🤦‍♂️

    🗣️THE WARNINGS AND THE TRUTH

Four years ago we warned where this was heading.

We warned about the marginalisation and eradication of generational match-going Reds. Nobody listened.

We warned about the Americanisation of our game. Nobody cared.

We warned that if Ratcliffe didn’t change direction, he’d become another Glazer in all but name.

Polls said give him more time.

    So we did.

We even postponed a protest at Arsenal because fans wanted to give him more time. Again we got abuse.

That decision demotivated lads in The 1958 who have sacrificed years of their lives, time, money and energy fighting for this fanbase and never asked for a thing in return. Some lads had personal abuse. Not after sympathy, those are the facts.

We never asked for nothing in return. We always preferred to be pissing from the outside in. Stood shoulder to shoulder with you.

We have banged on about unity since day one.

And for the last 12 months we have spent an unbelievable amount of time trying to make it happen.

    Meetings
    Calls
    Messages
    Statements
    Campaigns
    Endless frustration

Meanwhile some fans wanted to be edgy.

Some said it wasn’t their fight.

Some thought it would never affect them.

    Well look around now.

    Ticket prices.

    Season Ticket sanctions.

Long standing Reds treated like suspects.

Time served Reds receiving banning orders.

    Concessions disappearing.

    More hospitality.

    More premiumisation.

A future built around revenue, not supporters.

The chickens have come home to roost.

We take no pleasure in saying it, but we have got far more right than wrong.

    And we wish we hadn’t.

This was never about being proved right.

It was about stopping it before it happened.

So now the question is simple.

Are you finally United around what we have been warning about since the day we formed?

Wake up and smell the coffee.

    This is your Club.

This is your fight all generations all ages.

Are you with us, or against us?

    Time is running out fast.

    STAND BY.

Here’s the social media reaction after Man Utd fans announce protest plans ahead of the Manchester derby…

@NopeagainUTD: Can I be so real, don’t just protest bout the tickets. We got problems far beyond the tickets. Targeting the right ppl again

@MufcSxif: Not a word about the lack of signings or lack of ambition to compete from the owners tho lol

@saboteurDS: Protests have zero impact unless you empty the seats. GLAZERS ONLY CARE ABOUT SPONSORSHIP AND REVENUE THEY JUST SIGNED A NEW SPONSOR TODAY. Empty seats is when sponsors wake up. EMPTY THE STADIUM.

@MaxamedAxm84866: The club is falling apart on the pitch, the transfer window has been a disaster, INEOS are making mistake after mistake, and the Glazers are still bleeding the club dry , yet your biggest priority is protesting about tickets. Embarrassing.

@Utdtruths: Just for the tickets fiasco? Don’t get me wrong, we as a fanbase appreciate what you do. But what about the fight to remove the owners? Has that been totally forgotten now? Unless those owners are gone, these ongoing issues are only going to continue.

@Ricochetak: Sorry but not another March. It does nothing, sorry for the negativity but only a mass walk out would let them know how we feel. They are not interested in a couple of thousand fans marching around the stadium while wearing the clubs merchandise.

@AbedChris17005: The 1958. If you truly love Man United, you would organize boycotting home games as it is the only way to get the Glazers out of the club. Organizing these pointless protests and then taking a seat at the stadium is utter woke nonsense 😡

@BergeNikolay: Don’t get me wrong, you’re 100% right to protest, but is the protest only for the season tickets or have I misunderstood? We need to get this people out of Manchester United, they have destroyed this football. Does the protests stop with the season tickets or when they are gone?

@EamonnG86: More than one line has been crossed, countless have been crossed this past 21 years….. Have you demanded an end to the fully digital ticket prison system aswell as bans being lifted and the likes? And if not, why not? #GlazersOut #RatcliffeOut

@mellor8690: March to the ground in protest then go into the ground on tickets that have been bought , funding the rat and glazers make it make sense . Boycotting season ticket , match tickets and hitting them in the pockets emptying the ground is the only way round but it’ll never happy
