Former AEW star and one-half of the Butcher & Blade tag team, Andy Williams, has passed away at age 48.
Williams, who went by the name “The Butcher” was part of a trio in AEW at one point which included Allie “The Bunny.” The other half, “The Blade”, is Allie’s husband – Braxton Sutter.
On Sept. 5, Williams collapsed after his match at Enjoy Wrestling. The doctors and staff on site administered CPR until the ambulance arrived and transported Williams to the hospital.
Per TMZ, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office informed them that Williams had passed away.
Williams became a free agent from AEW in June after his contract with the promotion expired. He is a 10 year veteran in the ring and a musician from the band Every Time I Die.
