TWO clubs remain unbeaten heading into another weekend of absorbing League One action and Tony Incenzo looks through the pick of the action in the third tier on Saturday.

Meanwhile, four teams haven’t won an EFL game yet in 2026/27 after four outings. Therefore the League One betting odds make for interesting reading.

These are the upcoming pairings I am anticipating most alongside my considered score predictions to assist your football betting…

Peterborough United v Sheffield Wednesday Prediction

    • Kick-off: 12.30pm
    • Rankings: 18th versus 2nd

Peterborough United preview – Disappointing form registering just one EFL victory so far but unbeaten in two home games.

Sheffield Wednesday preview – One point below pole position. Three wins to date is better than their entire rock bottom Championship relegation tally from 2025/26. However, Owls striker Louie Barry will be sidelined for three months due to an ankle ligament injury.

    Score prediction: Wednesday well-adjusted 3-1.

Huddersfield Town v Notts County Prediction

    • Kick-off: 3pm
    • Rankings: 1st versus 10th

Huddersfield Town preview – One point clear thanks to three maximum pointers across four undefeated EFL encounters for new head coach Martin Drury. Highly rated striker Joe Taylor has scored five times within his past three appearances.

Notts County preview – Last season’s League Two Play-Off Final winners are also unbeaten although three of the four EFL games have ended in draws.

    Score prediction: Huddersfield hurrah 2-0.

    Reading v Blackpool Prediction

    • Kick-off: 3pm
    • Rankings: 14th versus 3rd

Reading preview – Wednesday night’s emphatic 5-0 home rout against Walsall signalled Reading’s first EFL win of 2026/27. Prolific front man Jack Marriott scored twice to reach five goals for the current campaign.

Blackpool preview – Two points behind those automatic promotion rungs. The midweek 2-1 reverse at Barnsley was Blackpool’s first EFL defeat.

    Score prediction: Thriller 3-3.

Leicester City v Oxford United Prediction

    • Kick-off: 3pm
    • Rankings: 13th versus 15th

Leicester City preview – Two sides relegated from the Championship together last season. Leicester claimed their first EFL League One victory at the fourth attempt by dispatching visitors Plymouth Argyle 2-0 on Tuesday evening – thereby climbing out of the bottom four and easing pressure on boss Russell Martin.

Oxford United preview – Also on Tuesday, Oxford United suffered an initial League One defeat going down 3-1 at Huddersfield Town.

    Score prediction: Atrocious 0-0.

Rest of Saturday’s League One score predictions:

    • Wigan Athletic v Stockport County: 0-3
    • Barnsley v Stevenage: 2-0
    • Bradford City v Mansfield Town: 1-1
    • Burton Albion v Cambridge United: 2-3
    • Doncaster Rovers v Plymouth Argyle: 0-2
    • Luton Town v Leyton Orient: 4-4
    • Wycombe Wanderers v MK Dons: 0-0
