TNA is getting ripped by fans again over Leon Slater, this time after viewers using MyAEW were unable to watch his match at RevPro’s 14 Year Anniversary Show. While Slater was wrestling Liam Slater, MyAEW viewers were reportedly shown a lengthy video package instead—and fans immediately blamed TNA for blocking the match.

Leon was the only TNA-contracted wrestler on the RevPro show on August 29, which made his match suddenly disappearing from the MyAEW broadcast stand out even more. Instead of Slater vs. Slater, viewers were given roughly 15 minutes of other RevPro content while the match took place.

That didn’t take long to get people angry, especially considering TNA’s recent history of restricting its contracted wrestlers from appearing in matches connected to AEW talent or platforms. One fan went directly after TNA President Carlos Silva over what happened.

“F*** TNA and Carlos Silva for blocking MyAEW from playing Leon Slaters’ Rev Pro anniversary match, you aren’t hurting anyone by doing this petty bull**** but your own talent and wrestling fans.”

Another fan couldn’t understand what TNA stood to gain from preventing MyAEW viewers from seeing Slater. They argued the decision only hurt Slater’s exposure and the people who wanted to watch him wrestle.

“The TNA that blocked the possibility for AEW to air the Leon Slater vs Liam Slater match on MyAEW. But what a dumbass move lmao. Do they realize they’re doing way more harm than good with a move like that?”

For viewers watching live, there was initially plenty of confusion about what was even happening. One fan expected Slater vs. Slater to begin, only to suddenly find themselves watching a video package about Michael Oku and Connor Mills instead.

“Why am I watching a video package about Oku and Mills? I thought it was Slater v Slater now? @RevProUK”

Once fans connected Slater being the only TNA talent on the card with his match not airing through MyAEW, the reaction became considerably less confused and a lot more angry.

“NO F****** WAY TNA. I’m finding out now that fans couldn’t watch the Leon Slater because TNA got involved and blocked the match on MyAEW F*** YOU CARLOS SILVA.”

The situation comes only months after Silva publicly took responsibility for TNA pulling talent from several crossover matches. That included preventing Slater from wrestling Ricochet, while Nic Nemeth’s planned match against MJF was also scrapped. Silva defended those decisions by saying his responsibility was to protect TNA, even if that meant making unpopular calls.

“We’re also not just going to lie down and not make decisions that are good for our business.”

This time, Slater still got to wrestle—the people watching through an AEW platform simply didn’t get to see it. TNA has not publicly confirmed that it ordered the MyAEW blackout, so the reason for the match being replaced on that feed remains unconfirmed despite fans immediately pointing the finger at the company.

What do you make of Leon Slater’s RevPro match not airing on MyAEW and the backlash toward TNA? Let us know in the comments.
