Nikkita Lyons remains the EVOLVE Women’s Champion as she defeated Thea Hail on this week’s episode.
The defense marks Lyons’ second title defense as she is approaching three full months as champion. The prior champion, Wendy Choo, doesn’t seem to be done with Lyons just yet.
The final moments of the match actually had Lyons tap out to Hail in the Kimura lock, but the officials back was turned dealing with an outside distraction.
Gianna Capri and Veronica Haven came from the VIP section only for Anya Rune to use her “powers” on them. When Rune’s back was turned, Skylar Rae and Wren Sinclair attacked Capri and Haven, making Rune think her powers worked.
With the referee’s distraction still there, Sloane Jacobs rakes the eyes of Hail. Lyons lands a kick to retain.
After Lyons retained against Hail, she was celebrating in the ring with Sloane Jacobs. The screens in the background behind Lyons flashed with Choo’s face appearing on them.
