AEW has new World Trios Champions after “Hangman” Adam Page, Brody King and Bandido defeated The Demand at Grand Slam Mexico on the August 5 episode of AEW Dynamite.
“The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” beat Ricochet, Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun to win the championship. The win ended The Demand’s title reign after just one week. It was also a special moment for all three new champions. Bandido won the AEW World Trios Championship for the first time in his career, while Page and King became two-time Trios Champions.
‘The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly’ win the AEW World Trios Championship
The fight started before the opening bell. Ricochet, Liona, and Kaun attacked the challengers while they were making their entrance.
Once the bell rang, Brody King immediately took control, using his strength to knock down both Liona and Kaun. Later in the match, Hangman Page and King helped Bandido launch himself over the ropes onto all three champions at ringside.
The challengers even stopped to celebrate with the Macarena dance, but The Demand quickly cut the celebration short. The champions then isolated Bandido and slowed the pace of the match.
Kaun hit him with a backbreaker before sending him to the outside, but Bandido eventually fought his way back and tagged in Page.
Page came into the match full of energy. He quickly took down Liona and Kaun before hitting Ricochet with a fallaway slam and a lariat. Page and Ricochet traded counters before Page connected with a Liger Bomb.
However, The Demand worked well together. Liona and Kaun stopped Page from hitting the Buckshot Lariat, and the champions later teamed up to hit a triple fallaway slam on the challengers.
But The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly refused to stay down. Bandido tried to hit the 21-Plex on Liona, but he fought it off. Page stepped in to help set up the finish. Bandido held Kaun in position while Page landed the Buckshot Lariat.
Bandido then hit the 21-Plex on Liona, giving the challengers the three-count and the AEW World Trios Championship.
After the match, the new champions celebrated by doing the Macarena together.
