Lola Vice’s undefeated run in WWE NXT Underground matches has come to an end. The former NXT Women’s Champion suffered her first loss under the unique rules on the August 4 episode of NXT, with Kendal Grey successfully defending the NXT Women’s title in a hard-fought match.
Vice came into the match with a perfect 4-0 record in NXT Underground matches. The match could also end up being her final appearance in NXT if she is on her way to the WWE main roster.

The match was the main event of the night. Vice and Grey didn’t waste time to turn it into a physical fight.
Both wrestlers exchanged holds early on before Vice took Grey to the mat and started landing several strikes. Grey fought back by sending Vice into the announce table with a tijeras. The action then spilled around ringside.
Things got worse for Grey when Vice caught one of her kicks and sent her face-first into the steel steps. The champion suffered a cut near her ear and started bleeding after the impact.
The referee and medics checked on Grey, but she made it clear that she wanted to continue. She then wrapped a bandage around her head, and the match resumed.
Both women continued trading punches and submission attempts. Neither competitor wanted to give up. Vice eventually locked Grey in a sleeper hold, but Grey escaped and quickly transitioned into a cross armbar. Vice managed to get out by taking off her glove.
The match took another turn when Vice tried to hit an Uraken. Grey moved out of the way, causing the strike to hit the referee instead. The official was knocked out and could not make the call.
Vice took advantage of the situation and put Grey in another sleeper hold. Grey appeared to pass out, but there was no referee available to declare Vice the winner.
That was when Wren Sinclair stepped in. Sinclair came to the ringside and encouraged Grey to keep fighting. She even slapped Grey to help wake her up. Grey eventually recovered while Vice checked on the referee.
The champion then spotted an opening and caught Vice in another cross armbar. This time, Vice could not escape. She tapped out, giving Grey the submission victory and allowing her to keep the NXT Women’s Championship.
The loss ended Vice’s 4-0 record in NXT Underground matches.
Vice made history by winning the first-ever women’s NXT Underground match. She defeated Natalya through knockout/referee stoppage. She later added another win against former UFC fighter Shayna Baszler. Vice then defeated Jaida Parker by submission, and her fourth victory came against Kelani Jordan.
Grey is now the first woman to defeat Vice under NXT Underground rules.
