CM Punk wasn’t the only name being talked about at the WWE Performance Center on Tuesday, because a WWE Hall of Famer is expected to drop by soon as well.
PWInsiderElite reports Punk stopped by the Orlando facility on August 4, but another name is already generating attention behind the scenes. According to the report, NXT talent has been hearing that WWE Hall of Famer Sean “X-Pac” Waltman is expected to visit the Performance Center later this month.
There’s still no word on why Punk was at the PC, and WWE hasn’t addressed the visit. The report, however, quickly shifted the focus to Waltman, whose expected appearance has already become a topic among people at NXT.
Waltman is no stranger to WWE’s current locker room. He was in Minneapolis for SummerSlam weekend and appeared on camera during Night One alongside fellow Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart.
Whether X-Pac is simply dropping in, working with talent or taking on a larger role hasn’t been revealed. For now, the expectation is that he’ll be in Orlando before the month is over, putting another Hall of Famer around WWE’s next generation of talent.
As for Punk, his stop at the Performance Center comes just days after retaining the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. He’s expected back on SmackDown this Friday, where Kevin Owens will make an appearance as his next challenger.
What do you think? Would you like to see X-Pac become more involved with WWE behind the scenes, or do you think this is just a one-time visit? Let us know in the comments below.
