Scottish athletes delivered a strong cross-border raid on the England Athletics Age Group Champs in Sheffield.
We make it no fewer than 15 medals in total – including five golds – at U20, U17 and U15 level as well as a number of other excellent PBs and performances.
Dean Patterson took down the Scottish U20 Indoor Record at 200m in his semi-final with a run of 21.07 and followed up by winning gold in the final.
High jumper Matthew Tait also savoured the winning feeling with a PB leap of 2.10m very impressive.
There were middle distance U17 golds for Fraser Lupton of Harmeny AC and Joshua Mungin of Kilbarchan AAC and the other gold medallist was Airdrie U15 jumper Leanne Elliot.
Murray Taylor of Inverness Harriers picked up a medal double at U15 level.
Well done to ALL the young Scots and their families and coaches who made the trip south to Sheffield to experience deeper competition and pick up valuable learning in competition.
The range of events and the different clubs involved with these athletes bodes well for the future.
