Chelsea Green may be a hot mess, but she is also the new Interim WWE Women’s Champion. This marks Green’s first top world women’s WWE title in her career. She is a former (and inaugural) WWE Women’s United States Champion and former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.
At SummerSlam on Sunday, Green climbed the ladder to grab the title as she defeated four other women (Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton, and Lash Legend). The final moments of the match had Green going up to the top of the ladder after knocking Stratton off the ladder into the other three women outside the ring.
With no other woman in the ring, Green had a straight shot up the ladder and to the title, or so she thought. With the crowd firmly behind her, Green was moment’s away from becoming champion as B-Fab and Michin entered to stop her. They left Green hanging by her legs on the lower steps of the ladder.
B-Fab and Michin helped Cargill get up on a ladder as Flair entered and took them out. She climbed the other side of the ladder. With three ladders now standing, Legend and Stratton climbed another one. The middle ladder still had Green hanging from the lower steps.
After Stratton and Legend were dumped off the ladder and Flair took herself and Cargill off another ladder, this left Green wide open for another try. Green hoisted herself up, climbed the ladder, and grabbed the WWE Women’s Title.
Green will remain champion until Rhea Ripley returns when they will have a match against each other to determine who is the champion.
