Serrano can add another milestone to her career when she enters the ring on August 21. The seven-division champion will attempt to break the all-time women’s knockout record while competing in the first unified women’s world championship contested over 12 two-minute rounds.
Most Valuable Promotions said the partnership is designed to bring championship boxing to TikTok’s global audience while expanding the sport’s reach among younger viewers. The event will stream live worldwide through TikTok LIVE rather than a traditional television or subscription platform.
“I’ve dedicated my career to creating opportunities for women’s boxing and bringing our sport to the biggest stages possible, so to headline the first-ever championship boxing event on TikTok is incredibly meaningful,” Serrano said.
She added that the platform gives women’s boxing another opportunity to reach new audiences while her bout with Manzur carries added historical significance through the 12 two-minute round championship format.
Manzur enters her first world title fight after climbing to the No. 2 position in the WBO rankings. The Argentine challenger captured the South American, Argentine and WBO Latino featherweight titles before earning her opportunity to face Serrano.
“I’ve been asking for this opportunity for a very long time,” Manzur said. “Ever since I started boxing, I’ve dreamed of fighting for a world title, and now I have the chance to do it against one of the sport’s true icons.”
The undercard features U.S. Olympian Jahmal Harvey against Hammet Keb, Brazilian prospect Jully Poca against Cinderella Linnear, unbeaten featherweights Roxy Verduzco and Miguelina Hernandez, heavyweight prospect Nelvie Tiafack against Salvador Zavala, and California’s Jocelyn Camarillo against Ashley Felix.
TikTok LIVE enters championship boxing for the first time on August 21. For Serrano, it represents another opportunity to extend a career already defined by historic firsts.
