Baron Corbin isn’t wasting any time getting back in the ring. Just days after making his surprise return on SmackDown, Corbin has already been announced for his first WWE match—and he’ll be thrown straight into the United States Championship picture.
The Dignity Health Arena, Theater and Convention Center in Bakersfield took to Facebook and has revealed the lineup for WWE’s July 26 Summer Tour live event, with Corbin advertised for a Fatal 4-Way Match for the United States Championship, where Trick Williams will defend the title against Carmelo Hayes, Corbin and Ricky Saints.

That’s a pretty clear sign WWE isn’t bringing Corbin back just to make cameo appearances. Instead, it looks like the company is wasting no time inserting him into one of SmackDown’s biggest rivalries after his shocking return last week.
Corbin returned on the July 10 episode of SmackDown, interrupting Trick Williams’ United States Championship match against Carmelo Hayes. He yanked Hayes off the apron before laying out both men with End of Days, leaving fans wondering exactly where he fit into the title picture.
Now, it looks like WWE has answered that question. The announcement also follows WWE’s reveal that Corbin will be carrying over the “Nomad” nickname he established during his time away from the company. After spending more than a year wrestling outside WWE following his November 2024 release, Corbin returned with a refreshed presentation—and now has a championship opportunity waiting for him almost immediately.
Of course, it’s worth remembering that this is a live event card and WWE lineups are always subject to change. Still, if the advertised match goes ahead, Corbin won’t have to wait long before getting his first chance to make an even bigger statement in his second WWE run.
