    William Hill News tipster @Footy_Tipster previews Tuesday’s 2026 World Cup Round of 16 game between Argentina and Egypt.

    Our Prediction: Argentina To Win To Nil (EVS), Argentina 2-0 Egypt (11/2)

    The Atlanta Stadium will be full once again on Tuesday, as reigning champions Argentina welcome Egypt in the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup, with a place in the quarter‑finals up for grabs.

    Now, let’s take a closer look at some World Cup odds and betting angles for Tuesday’s fixture:

    Argentina v Egypt – Tuesday, 5pm

    View all available markets at William Hill

    • Reigning world champions Argentina needed extra time in their round of 32 game against Cape Verde despite being the heavy favourites on the betting market pre-game, but their 3-2 victory meant they’ve now made the round of 16 in each of their last six World Cups.
    • La Albiceleste will be widely expected to reach the quarter-final, especially given you have to go back to 2019 for the last time they lost a knockout match at any tournament. With dreams of becoming just the third nation to win back‑to‑back World Cups, the pressure — and expectation — continues to build.
    • Argentina are odds‑on favourites to beat Egypt on Tuesday, and it’s no surprise. The holders have been in outstanding goalscoring form, hitting two or more goals in each of their last ten World Cup matches. Punters can back Argentina at 4/6 with William Hill to score Over 1.5 Goals, a market they’ve landed with remarkable consistency.

    • Egypt made history on Friday, winning their first ever World Cup knockout match after a 4-2 penalty shootout victory over Australia. A win here would see them become just the third African nation to reach a World Cup quarter‑final.
    • Their games are usually tight affairs, with six of their last seven matches decided by a single‑goal margin or ending level. Three of their four World Cup fixtures so far have finished 1-1, underlining just how difficult this Egypt side are to beat.
    • Goals have been a theme for Egypt, with both teams scoring in each of their last five matches and in their last six World Cup games. Punters can back the Pharaohs at 7/1 with William Hill to win inside ninety minutes.

    Bet Builder Hub:

    • Result – Argentina – Argentina are the reining champions and have lost none of their last eleven outings in all competitions.
    • Player To Score 2 Or More – Lionel Messi – Lionel Messi has scored in each of his last six games for Argentina, with two or more in two of those outings.

    Agree with our tips? Combine them in a Bet Builder at 17/4 with William Hill.

    2. If the bet wins, an Acca Boost will be added to your bet returns.
    3. The % of your win back as an Acca Boost will be determined by the number of selections in your Qualifying Acca (see full terms for breakdown of Acca Boost available).

    Significant Conditions

    1. The promotion runs from 08:00 (UK time) on Thursday 7th August 2025 until otherwise cancelled by us in accordance with these Terms (the “Promotion Period”).
    2. This Acca Boost promotion is available to both online customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland using the William Hill website (williamhill.com – the “Website”) or William Hill iOS or Android Mobile app (together, the “Apps”) and UK retail customers in William Hill shops.
    3. To qualify, place a Qualifying Acca on a Sports Betting Terminal or over the counter on Smart Hub SSBT in William Hill shops, or online via the Website or the App, during the Promotion Period.
    4. A “Qualifying Acca” is:
      1. A cash stake of any value (no minimum stake);
      2. On any football acca made of 4 or more selections;
      3. Each with odds of 1/5 (1.2) or bigger;
      4. On the Promotion Markets.
    5. The “Promotion Markets” are:
      1. 90 Minutes;
      2. 90 Minutes 2 Up;

      11. 14 selections – 50% Acca Boost
      12. 15 selections or above – 100% Acca Boost
    8. The increasing percentage of rewards in the Acca Boost reflects the relative risk of placing Qualifying Accas with a higher number of selections.
    9. The following maximum Acca Boost amounts will be applied per Qualifying Acca:
      1. For retail customers: £2,000
      2. For online customers: £10,000.
    10. There is no daily limit of Qualifying Accas.
    11. In the case of void selections within a Qualifying Acca, the Acca Boost will still apply but the percentage applied will be calculated according to the final number of winning selections.
    12. In the case of an Acca dropping to three selections or less, the acca will lose its Qualifying Acca status and Acca Boost will not apply.
