    William Hill News tipster @Footy_Tipster previews Wednesday’s 2026 World Cup game between England and D.R. Congo.

    Our Prediction: England To Win To Nil (3/4), England 2-0 D.R. Congo (4/1)

    The Atalanta Stadium awaits as England take on D.R. Congo in the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup, with history on the line for both nations.

    Now, let’s take a closer look at some World Cup odds and betting angles for Wednesday’s fixture:

    England v D.R. Congo – Wednesday, 5pm

    View all available markets at William Hill

    • England wrapped up Group L as winners after a hard‑fought 2-0 victory over Panama, though their last two outings have shown a slight struggle against low‑block opposition — something DR Congo specialise in.
    • Thomas Tuchel’s side should still be confident of progressing, especially given that fourteen of their last fifteen wins have come with a clean sheet. The Three Lions will also be desperate to avoid joining Germany and the Netherlands in suffering early exits.
    • Goals may be limited, though. Seven of England’s last nine matches have produced fewer than three goals, suggesting another tight affair could be on the cards. Punters can back England to win without conceding at 3/4 with William Hill.

    • History will be made on Wednesday as D.R. Congo take their place in a World Cup knockout match for the first time ever, with a superb 3-1 victory over Uzbekistan on matchday three securing third place for the Leopards.
    • Sébastien Desabre’s side may be underdogs, but they’ve already shown they won’t be brushed aside after holding Portugal to a 1-1 draw earlier in the tournament. You also have to go back to March 2022 for the last time D.R. Congo were beaten by more than one goal in a competitive fixture — a sign of their resilience.
    • This is the first meeting between these nations, and all signs point towards a tight, low‑scoring affair. Thirteen of D.R. Congo’s last sixteen matches have produced fewer than three goals, reinforcing the likelihood of a cagey contest. Punters who fancy a seismic shock can back the Leopards at 10/1 with William Hill to stun England inside ninety minutes.

    Bet Builder Hub:

    • Player To Score – Harry Kane – Harry Kane has scored three goals in his last three games for England.
    • Total Goals – Under 2.5 – Seven of England’s last nine matches have produced fewer than three goals.
    • Total Corners – Over 9.5 – Each of England’s last six competitive games have seen 10 or more corners.

    Agree with our tips? Combine them in a Bet Builder at 15/2 with William Hill.

    How to take part

    1. Place a Qualifying Acca (football accas of 4+ selections (min odds 1/5) from Qualifying Markets) in any William Hill shop via the Sports Betting Terminals or over the counter on the Smart Hub SSBT or online via the William Hill Website or App(s);
    2. If the bet wins, an Acca Boost will be added to your bet returns.
    3. The % of your win back as an Acca Boost will be determined by the number of selections in your Qualifying Acca (see full terms for breakdown of Acca Boost available).

    Significant Conditions

    1. The promotion runs from 08:00 (UK time) on Thursday 7th August 2025 until otherwise cancelled by us in accordance with these Terms (the “Promotion Period”).
    2. This Acca Boost promotion is available to both online customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland using the William Hill website (williamhill.com – the “Website”) or William Hill iOS or Android Mobile app (together, the “Apps”) and UK retail customers in William Hill shops.
    3. To qualify, place a Qualifying Acca on a Sports Betting Terminal or over the counter on Smart Hub SSBT in William Hill shops, or online via the Website or the App, during the Promotion Period.
    4. A “Qualifying Acca” is:
      1. A cash stake of any value (no minimum stake);
      2. On any football acca made of 4 or more selections;
      3. Each with odds of 1/5 (1.2) or bigger;
      4. On the Promotion Markets.
    5. The “Promotion Markets” are:
      1. 90 Minutes;
      2. 90 Minutes 2 Up;
      3. Both Teams To Score;

      11. 14 selections – 50% Acca Boost
      12. 15 selections or above – 100% Acca Boost
    8. The increasing percentage of rewards in the Acca Boost reflects the relative risk of placing Qualifying Accas with a higher number of selections.
    9. The following maximum Acca Boost amounts will be applied per Qualifying Acca:
      1. For retail customers: £2,000
      2. For online customers: £10,000.
    10. There is no daily limit of Qualifying Accas.
    11. In the case of void selections within a Qualifying Acca, the Acca Boost will still apply but the percentage applied will be calculated according to the final number of winning selections.
    12. In the case of an Acca dropping to three selections or less, the acca will lose its Qualifying Acca status and Acca Boost will not apply.
    13. Any Acca Boost on winnings will be applied as part of the standard bet settlement process.
    14. Bets you place using free bets cannot be combined with the Acca Boost
