John Cena has a Guinness World Record for staying a WWE babyface longer than most wrestlers stay on top, but even he seems confused about why that record exists.
While speaking to First We Feast, Cena reacted to the fact that he spent more than 7,000 consecutive days as a babyface before finally turning heel. The stat sounds impressive, but Cena immediately turned it into a joke about Guinness itself.
After the record was brought up, Cena immediately focused on the “Guinness” part of the title and joked that if the World Records organization really is connected to the famous beer, that might explain how the category came to exist: “The beer.”
The 17-time World Champion then took the joke even further, saying maybe someone had enjoyed one too many pints before deciding to create a record for the longest babyface run in professional wrestling. Cena then admitted he still finds the entire thing hard to believe
“And if so, maybe they had one too many pints to be like, ‘You know what would be a great record? Who has been a baby face the longest?’ Really, I can’t… I can’t believe that that is a category.”
Cena finally turned heel at Elimination Chamber 2025 after spending more than two decades as WWE’s ultimate good guy, ending one of the longest babyface runs in wrestling history. While the record itself is now officially in the books, it sounds like Cena is still more amused by the fact that someone decided it deserved its own category in the first place.
