Bitesize Prediction: Botafogo SP vs CRB

Looking to extend on their recent turn in fortunes, Botafogo SP will welcome CRB to Santa Cruz in the early hours of Wednesday.

With Brazil’s elite getting their World Cup knockout stage adventure underway this week, there are a host of attractive betting promotions available this summer.

    Competition: Brazil Serie B

    Market: Botafogo SP win

    Odds: 5/4 @ BetUS

Starting with the hosts, only just dragging themselves over the finishing line last season as they clung to their Serie B status, Botafogo are desperate for smoother sailing this time around. However, while Claudio Tencati’s camp might have once again shown some glaring inconsistencies this year, the Panthers have enjoyed an essential resurge over the past fortnight. Last seen putting in a gritty performance as they clinched a 1-0 victory away at Ceara, the Sao Paulo-based outfit have now secured consecutive Serie B wins since signing off June. Dragging themselves away from another looming relegation scrap, Botafogo should be smelling a golden opportunity in the early hours of Wednesday. Likewise, last seen at Santa Cruz landing a 2-1 win against Operario, Botafogo have registered back-to-back victories for this first time since the start of April. It should also be highlighted, Tencati’s side have suffered just a sole defeat from any of their previous four showdowns in front of their own supporters.

As for the visitors, while CRB might have embarked on quite the purple patch when opening May, Eduardo Barroca’s camp have largely come crashing back down to earth. Suffering late frustration at the Rei Pele last time out as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate at home against Fortaleza, the Maceio-based outfit are still scrapping it out at the foot of the Serie B standings. Putting just two points on the board from their previous four appearances, CRB have also shown some real defensive issues. With their recent struggles underlined by a frantic 3-2 defeat at the hands of Sao Bernardo on June 7th, Wednesday’s guests have failed to register a clean sheet from their previous six consecutive Serie B showdowns. It should also be noted, Barroca’s downbeat squad fell to a 2-1 loss when they last travelled to Santa Cruz for a second-tier battle back in May 2025. Given what has been a recent gulf in class, we are backing a similar outcome here.

Bet: Botafogo SP 5/4 to beat CRB in Wednesday’s Brazil Serie B battle @ BetUS
