TNA iMPACT Results
We get a recap of last week’s TNA iMPACT featuring Moose versus AJ Francis, Trick Williams’ assault on Mike Santana, and The Nemeths versus Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers in the main event.
Mustafa Ali vs. Brian Myers
- The finish of the match saw Ali catch Myers off guard with a pin for the win.
Winner: Mustafa Ali
After the match, Ali tries to celebrate his victory but is attacked by an irate Myers. The Great Hands attack Myers but Eddie Edwards take them out. Tasha Steelz sneak up on Edwards with a low blow. Alisha Edwards takes down Steelz before rocking John Skylar with a slap. Moose complements the slap with a big boot.
Moose sets his sight on Agent Zero on the other side of the ring. Both men get inside the squared circle. Agent Zero gets the first strike with a headbutt. Security gets inside the ring to as an all out brawl breaks between Order 4 and The System. Santino Marella arrives and announces a Hardcore War between Order 4 and The System at TNA Bound for Glory.
Grade: A-
A great way to kick off TNA iMPACT. The feud between Order 4 and The System has been building for weeks with a match finally set for Bound for Glory. TNA isn’t big enough for the two factions to co-exist. The System may have carried the promotion for the past few years but this writer believes it’s time for Order 4 to make their mark.
Gia Miller is backstage with The Nemeths ahead of their tag team title challenge against The Hardys. Miller asks Nic Nemeth how are they going to approach the match against the legendary Hardys. Nic tries to answer but is interrupted by Ryan who mocks Jeff for painting his face because he can’t stand to look in the mirror and Matt for being sponsored by Bioflex. Nic tells his little brother to save some of his enthusiasm for their match tonight. He says the Hardys are absolute legend but the Nemeths invoked their rematch clause to, once again, become the TNA World Tag Team Champions.
We see the Personal Concierge walk up to Dani Luna ahead of her match against Indi Hartwell. PC says he’s got some advice for Luna. He wants to see her make Hartwell suffer enough so she won’t make it to Bound for Glory for her scheduled world title match. Hartwell is set to officiate the TNA Knockouts World Championship match between Ash By Elegance and Masha Slamovich at TNA Victory Road next week.
Eric Young vs. Judas Icarus
- The finish of the match saw Icarus catch Young with a small package for the win.
Winner: Judas Icarus
After the match, Young snaps (again) and takes out the match official. Security gets in the ring to prevent the World Class Maniac from causing more trouble.
Grade: B+
Judas Icarus showed up and showed out here! The little distraction from Joe Hendry was all he needed to secure the W against Eric Young. That being said, EY may have become even more motivated to sacrifice Hendry to the cleanse now.
We get Rascalz in the tree house. Zach Wentz questions Trey Miguel for putting him out of the ring last week in their four-way match to determine the new number one contender to the TNA X Division Championship. Miguel says every man was for himself in the match. Myron Reed says he needed the W and he got it. The trio celebrates… with Santino Marella?! The TNA Director of Authority says it was all in the spirit of competition. He asks for a blunt that turns out to be carrot.
The Elegance Brand vs. Masha Slamovich & The IInspiration
- The finish of the match saw Heather blind Cassie Lee with a champagne to the eyes, allowing M to pick up the win with a rope assisted pin.
Winners: The Elegance Brand
Grade: B-
This match dragged for far too long. That being said, the Elegance Brand picking up the win was the right call because the champions need to look strong heading into TNA Victory Road. Let’s see who gets the W next week.
Frankie Kazarian is in the ring for another edition of the King’s Speech. Kaz introduces his guest for the segment. The person is a former multi-time champion. He’s… Kaz himself. Kaz puts himself over as the guest of the show. We finally get to the real guest of the King’s Speech. It’s Misterrrrr Anderson.
Anderson gets in the ring to a huge ovation from his hometown of Minnesota. Anderson puts over his wrestling school. He welcomes anyone who’s willing to take a bump. Kaz recalls his history with the former two-time TNA World Champion. He says he’s got a bit of a problem with Steve Maclin. Anderson puts over Maclin for being a former soldier. Kaz says Ken’s family is in the building. He threatens to make an example out of Anderson in front of them but Anderson won’t have none of it. Jake Something attacks Anderson from behind. Kaz barks orders on Something to take out Anderson but Steve Maclin arrives in the nick of time. The TNA International Champion clears the ring as we head into another commercial break.
Indi Hartwell vs. Dani Luna
- The match ended in DQ after Luna attacked Hartwell with a chair shot to the gut.
Winner via DQ: Indi Hartwell
After the bell, Luna continues her assault on Indi Hartwell. Security tries to intervene but Luna scatters them with a huge swing. She grabs the chair and finishes the attack with a hit to the back. Indi might not be at her one hundred percent heading into TNA Victory Road next week.
Mike Santana vs. AJZ
The finish of the match saw Santana hit AJZ with an STB for the win.
Winner: Mike Santana
After the match, Santana grabs the mic and calls out Trick Williams for his attack last week on TNA iMPACT. Santana says he won’t be making the same mistake because Trick’s “bitch ass” belongs to Santana at TNA Bound for Glory. But before he could finish, Santana gets jumped by Ridge Holland from WWE NXT.
Grade: B+
Ridge Holland’s appearance caught this writer by surprise. It appears we may be getting Santana versus Holland at TNA Victory Road. Holland was booked as a major heel against Trick Williams for the NXT Championship. This writer is all about wrestlers getting TV time instead of sitting in catering doing nothing.
Next week on TNA iMPACT
The following matches were announced during the show:
- The Hardys and The Dudley Boyz will appear
- Victoria Crawford vs. Jody threat
- The Rascalz vs. Cedric Alexander & Leon Slater
- Steve Maclin & Ken Anderson vs. Frankie Kazarian & Jake Something
The Hardys (c) vs. The Nemeths – TNA World Tag team Championship
- The finish of the match saw Jeff Hardy hit Ryan Nemeth with a Swanton Bomb for the win.
Winners & still TNA World Tag Team Champions: The Hardys
Overall Grade: B+
A solid penultimate episode of TNA iMPACT heading into Victory Road! ODB and Ken Anderson’s appearances were the biggest surprises of the night. This writer loved the brief interaction between Agent Zero and Moose. The match at Bound for Glory is going to be must-see. Dani Luna continues to prove herself as a credible heel. The main event was textbook tag team action with Hardys retaining heading into their “final negotiation” with the Dudleys next week on iMPACT.
