JCW personality Ring Rat, also known asPaige Collett, says she came painfully close to meeting “Stone Cold” Steve Austin during WrestleCon weekend — but missed the moment entirely after stepping away to rest and get ready.
Austin made appearances during WrestleCon weekend festivities, where several wrestlers and personalities were able to cross paths with the WWE Hall of Famer backstage. Ring Rat later revealed to Ringside News that she was actually in the same building — but didn’t realize what she had missed until it was too late.
According to her, the situation unfolded while events were taking place downstairs, while she remained upstairs getting herself ready. She explained that she had been moving around the venue earlier and even ran into familiar faces before heading upstairs.
“I am bummed. I went upstairs and took a nap and downstairs GCW was going and it was like the hardcore. I ran into Natalya and said hey to her you know and that was cool, but I went upstairs and took a nap and did my hair and make up…”
That decision ended up costing her a moment she had been hoping for — meeting Steve Austin and possibly snapping a memorable photo. She said she didn’t even realize what had happened until her brother posted about it afterward.
“…during that time if you go and look at Shane Mercer‘s freaking… Stone Cold Steve Austin was down there and then my brother Shane didn’t tell me until he posted the photo I missed out on doing that iconic photo of Stone Cold Steve Austin just being in the locker room.”
Ring Rat made it clear that the near-miss still stings, especially considering how close she came to being part of what she called an iconic moment with one of wrestling’s biggest legends. She admitted the situation still feels surreal, knowing she was just steps away from the opportunity.
“How funny would that have been just met him I almost almost happened.”
The adds another chapter to Ring Rat’s ongoing online persona tied to Steve Austin, especially after her earlier viral social media posts reacting to the Attitude Era icon. This time, though, the story isn’t about bold captions — it’s about a missed opportunity that came down to timing, a nap, and a little bit of bad luck backstage during one of wrestling’s busiest weekends.
