The May 1 episode of WWE SmackDown took place at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Everyone wanted to see what was next for Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu, and this week’s show built toward that big moment.
Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu’s family warfare also involves the Undisputed WWE Championship. That prize is at the center of Fatu’s drive, as he doesn’t just want that title because he also needs it.
Jacob Fatu was spotted backstage prior to SmackDown, and he was on a heated phone conversation. The person he was speaking with was a mystery, but it was obvious that the Samoan Werewolf meant business.
Solo Sikoa lost to Jacob Fatu last week on SmackDown. He didn’t want to let that slide, so he set a target on Fatu, even though Roman Reigns staked his claim on him. The Usos came down to talk with Solo about this, but then they were taken out by Talla Tonga instead. Solo didn’t care if Roman wanted Jacob because he was going to take him out, too.
This set up a main event tag team match between The Usos and Solo Sikoa and Talla. When everything was said and done, the four men gave their all in the ring. In the end, Jacob Fatu jumped the barricade to attack Talla Tonga. The referee called for the bell at that point, and then Jacob cracked Talla with the steel ring steps.
Jacob Fatu got in the ring and stood up to Solo Sikoa. Jacob didn’t love Solo anymore at all as he locked on a Tongan Death Grip on Solo. Jacob tried to dive on Talla, but he was caught before he put Talla through the announce table. Then fans chanted for the OTC as Jacob got in the ring with the Usos. Jacob Fatu left after that, and this was a very tense moment.
After his rampage, Jacob Fatu grabbed the microphone as he promised to dogwalk Roman Reigns at Backlash. Only time will tell what’s next for this storyline.
