Finn Bálor recently praised former WWE Undisputed Champion Roman Reigns, calling him being on another level.
Bálor is set to face CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber this weekend. Meanwhile, Reigns earned a World Heavyweight Title match at WrestleMania 42 after winning the Royal Rumble has already chose Punk as his opponent.
However, Bálor now has a chance to change those plans if he defeats Punk and wins the title this weekend. Bálor who has his own history with Reigns. The two first faced each other on Bálor’s debut night on WWE RAW in 2016. Despite their past battles, Balor spoke highly of Reigns
Finn Bálor praises Roman Reigns as one of the greatest of all time
In a recent interview with Adrian Hernandez, Finn Bálor recalled that their first encounter on his debut night on Raw left a strong impression on him. He said, “As a professional, he’s one of the greatest of all time. I remember the first time I locked up with Roman was my first night on Raw, and when I locked up with him, it was a different feeling like ‘oh, this is how they do it here’. It was a real eye opening moment for me. I had a similar one in Japan when I wrestled Jushin Liger.
He also reflected on their 2021 match at WWE Extreme Rules. In that match, Reigns defeated “The Demon” Finn Balor after the top rope snapped. But with Roman, he’s just at another level, and is someone I admire and respect, but obviously there is still a little bit of bitterness, that top rope malfunction.”
“That’s another what if. What if the top rope didn’t break? Roman was laying in the middle of the ring and I was about to hit the foot stomp.
