Backstage, Damian Priest attacks Drew McIntyre, slamming him into a truck gate. The two brawl until they’re briefly pulled apart, only to start fighting again.
WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton made her entrance, introduced by ring announcer Mark Nash. Wade Barrett joined Joe Tessitore on commentary as they recapped Stratton’s win over Nia Jax from last week.
Stratton said that a year ago, she walked into Money in the Bank with all the hype, and now she’s the champion. She reminded everyone she beat Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax. Just as she started warning the future MITB winner not to try cashing in on her, music interrupted her.
Alexa Bliss took the mic and said she didn’t think she and Tiffany had ever formally met. She reminded Tiffany that she’s a former Women’s Champion and a former Ms. Money in the Bank. Alexa said she had been watching closely ever since Tiffany beat Charlotte Flair. She made it clear she didn’t feel sorry for Charlotte, but she needs that briefcase. She told Tiffany not to take it personally — “It’s just business.” Alexa said she actually liked Nia, but she doesn’t know Tiffany, and that’s not a good thing. “You better pray I don’t win at Money in the Bank. If you thought your rise was fast, wait for your downfall.”
Charlotte Flair’s music hit, and she walked out with a mic in hand. Charlotte said if there’s one thing people know about her, it’s her humility — “I might be the most humble 14-time champion ever.” She congratulated Tiffany for beating her at WrestleMania and said she’s doing great, but it won’t last. Charlotte admitted the one thing she’s never done is win Money in the Bank, and if that’s the route she has to take, so be it. She promised to win, cash in, and take her title back. “When I want something, I don’t wait. I take it.”
Tiffany fired back, calling Charlotte a hypocrite. “Didn’t you say cashing in the briefcase was the easy way out?” She said Alexa and Charlotte were both a bit vintage for her taste. “You were the standard. I’m the upgrade.” Tiffany reminded them that whether they liked it or not, “it’s always Tiffy Time as long as I’m champion.”
As Tiffany headed up the aisle, Giulia made her way to the ring.
