Action packed edition from last night’s NXT!! Let’s get right into it!

Tatum Paxley/Lyra Valkyria vs. Wendy Choo/Rosemary

Right from the start, Rosemary charges Paxley, but she’s met with a rather cheeky backflip, leading to a tag to Valkyria. Choo tags in but immediately gets caught in a bodyscissors, with Paxley rolling her around.

Paxley is subjected to a Russian legsweep/running shove combo, but enziguris her way to some breathing room. Valkyria hops back in, and chaos predictably ensues. Paxley, not one to be left out, delivers a belly-to-belly superplex that nearly gets the pin, but she’s saved by a well-timed foot on the ropes. Valkyria finishes things off planting Rosemary.

Winners: Tatum Paxley/Lyra Valkyria

Lola Vice was seen warming up in the women’s locker room like she’s getting ready for a boxing match rather than a wrestling one, has no time for Jaida Parker. Cue Parker, who strolls in, offering to fight Fatal Influence later. Vice, in a rather “you do you” attitude, tells Parker she can have a go after she’s done with them. Parker doesn’t exactly look thrilled, mind you.

CM Punk is on NXT this week and it is the first time he is in an NXT ring. He cuts a promo and during it helps to put the women’s locker room over.

Roxanne Perez comes out to interrupt Punk!

Perez drops the mic bomb that, as a kid, Punk was her favorite wrestler (well, she does have taste). But, wait for it—Perez throws shade by saying she’s always preferred his wife. Ouch! After an obligatory AJ chant, Perez realizes she might’ve been better off fangirling over Drew McIntyre. Punk, with all the subtlety of a bloke in a pub quiz, asks if he can retort. Perez isn’t having it, because why would you let Punk of all people steal your thunder?

Punk, never one to back down, praises Perez’s overconfidence, claiming she reminds him of his younger, chip-on-the-shoulder self. He then mentions watching Bianca Belair and IYO SKY the night before and wonders if Perez might actually be better than them. Enter Giulia, who says the countdown’s on and that Perez only has two more weeks. As she attempts to leave. Perez takes a swing, but Punk grabs her arm, leading to an intense stare-off. You could practically see Perez trying not to geek out over being in the same ring as Punk, but let’s be real, some of those lines were great.

Kelani Jordan, ever the plucky underdog, says she’s not worried about Fatal Influence. She’s even thinking of issuing her own open challenge, but before she can properly puff out her chest, Wren Sinclair shows up, gives her a slap, and bolts out from the screen.

Jacy Jayne vs. Lola Vice

Fatal Influence are ringside for this one, Vice no-sells a kick to the face from Jayne like it’s an insult to her dignity, then knocks her to the floor with a strike. Jayne manages a cheeky shot of her own on the outside, followed by a Cannonball back in the ring for two. Vice, thoroughly unimpressed, shrugs it off, delivering a series of kicks before finishing Jayne off with a spinning backfist.

Winner: Lola Vice

Post-match, Fatal Influence jumps in for the classic heel beatdown, but Parker rushes in for the save. Vice and Parker have made it clear they don’t want each other’s help, but it seems to be needed. The two have to be pulled apart, with Vice and Parker glaring at each other.

Set for next week is a NXT Women’s North American Title Match between champion Kelani Jordan and challenger Wren Sinclair.
