TNA iMPACT Results:

This week’s episode of TNA iMPACT kicks off with a recap of last week’s show.

Heather and Ash by Elegance vs. Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley

  • The finish of the match saw Ash by Elegance hit Tatum Paxley with Rarified Air to score the pinfall victory for her team.

Winners: Heather and Ash by Elegance

Grade: C+

Not a great way to open the show in my opinion. I know TNA is really big on pushing Ash and Heather, but I don’t really see them gelling well as a tag team as of yet. This match, unfortunately, just wasn’t for me.

Leon Slater will face Nic Nemeth in the main event of TNA iMPACT tonight

Gia Miller is backstage with Leon Slater and it’s announced he’ll be facing Nic Nemeth tonight in the main event. Leon Slater says he’s feeling a lot of things, and he’s not quite sure what to think. Slater says tonight won’t just be a match, tonight is going to be a fight. Slater says Nemeth shocked the world at Sacrifice when he betrayed him and the Hardys.

Leon says he will show Nemeth what the Hardys taught him, and he will answer to the new lord of extreme, and he will get his get back tonight.

Chavo Guerrero and The Aztec Warriors vs. Fir$t Cla$$ and Frankie Kazarian

  • The finish of the match saw Chavo Guerrero hit KC Navarro with the Frog Splash to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Chavo Guerrero and The Aztec Warriors

Grade: B

This was a fun tag match. The crowd in El Paso was really into seeing Chavo play the hits. Feel-good moments are always welcome in professional wrestling. This match certainly delivered on that to me.

Rosemary sends a message to Xia Brookside

We get a vignette from Rosemary to continue the build for her ongoing rivalry with Xia Brookside.

Backstage, Santino Marella holds a meeting with Sami Callihan and Mance Warner. Both men are in handcuffs because Santino believes that if they weren’t, someone would be leaving in a death bag. Marella wants to know what needs to be done to bring this to an end.

Sami Callihan says Mance Warner doesn’t belong in TNA, he belongs in jail with the rest of his family. Mance Warner says he kicked in the door of TNA and has done everything he said he was going to do. Warner brings up beating Callihan, but Callihan reminds him that he cheated.

Santino says he has an announcement about the Digital Media Championship, but both men need to promise they won’t damage anymore TNA property. Callihan refuses and calls Steph De Lander a skank. This led to De Lander throwing a drink in his face, and everyone being separated.

TNA Knockouts Championship: Masha Slamovich (c) vs. Jacy Jayne

  • The finish of the match saw Masha Slamovich hit Jacy Jayne with the Snow Plow to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And still Knockouts Champion, Masha Slamovich

After the match, Tessa Blanchard attacks Slamovich from behind. Eventually, Xia Brookside and Lei Ying Lee hit the ring to chase Blanchard off.

Grade: B+

This was a great title match. I think it could have been tonight’s main event if not for Slater and Nemeth being on the card. Jayne shined in this match a lot more than she gets to do in NXT, and both women came out of this match looking pretty strong, Tessa Blanchard’s aftermath notwithstanding.

Eric Young (w/ The Northern Armory) vs. Ace Austin

  • The finish of the match saw interference from The Northern Armory that allowed Eric Young to hit a piledriver on Ace Austin to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Eric Young

Grade: B

Solid match. The numbers game caught up to Ace Austin and that’s how things go sometimes. I wish TNA was invested in doing more with Austin right now, with Bey sidelined. He kinda feels directionless at the moment, and I hope that changes soon.

What’s next for Joe Hendry?

Joe Hendry comes to the ring and says he’ll defend the TNA Championship against anyone from any company. All they have to do is call Santino to set the match up. This brings out Elijah. Instead of challenging Hendry to a title match, he sings him “You Got A Friend In Me” from Toy Story. Don’t believe me? Check it out in the embedded post below.

They are both interrupted by Frankie Kazarian, who says no one wants to see this Hall and Oats nonsense. Kazarian says he hates both of them, but knows they are accomplished musicians, but real men play the bass guitar. Kazarian proceeds to break out into a concert of his own. I can’t believe this is happening…

Frankie Kazarian tries to pit Hendry and Elijah against each other, but they don’t fall for it and both beat him up instead.

Nic Nemeth (w/ Ryan Nemeth) vs. Leon Slater

  • The finish of the match saw interference from Ryan Nemeth that allowed Nic Nemeth to hit Leon Slater with a superkick followed by Danger Zone to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Nic Nemeth

Grade: A-

After the match, the Nemeth brothers look to continue their attack on Slater, but The Hardys return and send them running. Matt Hardy challenges the Nemeths to a match at Rebellion as TNA iMPACT goes off the air.

TNA iMPACT Review:

Tonight’s show didn’t start great and had one heck of a hokey segment, but overall I thought this was a strong episode from iMPACT this evening. Some good in-ring action and the advancement of a couple of important storylines to keep things moving along. I enjoyed tonight’s show for the most part.

Grade: B
