TNA Genesis Results
Pre-Show
Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo (c) vs. BDE vs. Eric Young vs. KJ Orso – TNA International Championship
- The closing sequence saw Eric Young spike KJ Orso with a piledriver before Stacks shoved Young out of the ring and pinned Orso for the win.
Winner and still TNA International Champion: Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo
Indi Hartwell and Vicious Vikki vs. Tessa Blanchard and Mila Moore
- The finish of the match saw Tessa Blanchard plant Vicious Vikki with a single underhook DDT for the win.
Winners: Tessa Blanchard and Mila Moore
TNA Genesis Main Show
Rich Swann vs. AJ Francis
- The finish of the match saw AJ Francis plant Rich Swann with a reverse chokeslam followed by the Down Payment for the win.
Winner: AJ Francis
Grade: A-
What a fantastic match to kick off the TNA Genesis main show. As Tommy Dreamer said on the pre-show, Rich Swann is truly one of the best professional wrestlers in the world, and this match proved why. Swann showed his ability to carry a powerhouse like AJ Francis to a brilliant performance, while Francis deserves credit for his strong character work throughout.
The Styles Clash and the Dallas Destroyer popped this writer in a big way. Swann may have lost, but he went down looking like a fighter.
Mike Santana backstage segment
Gia Miller is backstage with Mike Santana. Santana is fired up ahead of his TNA World Championship rematch against Frankie Kazarian. He gives props to Kazarian for their AMC main event this past Thursday and recalls the phone conversation he had with his daughter following his title win.
Santana caps off the segment with his catchphrase, drawing a pop from the crowd.
Elijah vs. Mustafa Ali
- The finish saw Ali capitalize on a distraction, strike Elijah in the back with a guitar, and score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Mustafa Ali
Grade: A-
Mustafa Ali simply cannot have a bad match. He is that good. I liked how Special Agent Zero’s involvement was kept to a minimum, while Tasha Steelz nearly had her head spiked with a piledriver. Ali also gave Elijah a taste of his own medicine with a guitar shot to the back.
The controversial finish suggests that the feud between Elijah and Mustafa Ali is far from over.
JDC vs. Eddie Edwards – The Last Dance
- The finish of the match saw Eddie Edwards hit JDC with a third Boston Knee Party for the win.
After the match, The System’s Brian Myers, Moose, and Alisha Edwards appear in the ring to give JDC his flowers, while the rest of the TNA roster applauds from the stage. A visibly emotional JDC shows his appreciation for the crowd at TNA Genesis by taking a lap around the ring before joining the roster on the stage.
Grade: A+
So far, this is the match of the night. JDC couldn’t have picked a better dancing partner for his sendoff. Eddie Edwards gave Dango arguably one of the best matches of his career. It took three running knee strikes to the face to put JDC down. For a man who has been in the business for more than two decades, this was the perfect sendoff.
Thank you, Curtis Hussey!
Mara Sade vs. Ryan Nemeth
- The finish of the match saw Mara Sade suffer an awkward fall after a top-rope dropkick, before Ryan Nemeth used the ropes to leverage a pinfall for the win.
Grade: B-
For a filler intergender match, this was quite entertaining. After Ryan Nemeth used the ropes to secure the pin, the referee failed to catch his controversial tactics the second time.
Make it make sense!
It will be interesting to see where the feud heads next following Nemeth’s TNA Genesis win.
TNA International Champion Stacks is backstage with Arianna Grace. Arianna questions her father, Santino Marella, for continuing to disapprove of her relationship with Stacks. Grace mocks Santino, saying he has already lost his daughter and is now in the midst of a power struggle with Daria Rae. Stacks vows to continue proving his soon-to-be father-in-law wrong.
Lei Ying Lee (c) vs. ZARIA – TNA Knockouts World Championship
- The finish of the match saw Lei Ying Lee plant ZARIA with the Warrior’s Way for the win.
Winner and still TNA Knockouts World Champion: Lei Ying Lee
After the match, TNA President Carlos Silva presents Lei Ying Lee with her championship. ZARIA and Lee shake hands, but the music hits, and it’s Elayna Black. The former Cora Jade clearly has her sights set on the TNA Knockouts World Championship. The segment ends with Cora teasing a title match against Lei Ying Lee.
Grade: B-
It was a good match, but it went on for too long. ZARIA was never going to win the world title. This writer would go as far as to say that NXT’s booking of the powerhouse has been nothing short of underwhelming. She still can’t seem to win on her own, despite being presented as a legitimate threat from the start. As for Elayna Black, she has the mic skills, but it’s still too early for TNA to crown her the Knockouts World Champion.
We hear from Nic Nemeth
Nic Nemeth hypes up the Texas Death main event at TNA Genesis. He says it will only take a 10-count to separate the winner from the loser and teases cashing in his Call Your Shot Gauntlet Trophy, even though he is the special guest referee.
The Hardys (c) vs. The Righteous – TNA World Tag Team Championship
Matt and Jeff drag Vincent out of the ring before the opening bell. Matt sends Dutch into the ring post, followed by Jeff hitting a dive. Jeff and Vincent get in the ring as the referee calls for the opening bell.
- The finish of the match saw Matt Hardy hit Vincent with a Twist of Fate before Jeff Hardy sealed the win with a Swanton Bomb.
Winners and still TNA World Tag Team Champions: The Hardys
After the match, Dutch returns the TNA World Tag Team Titles to The Hardys as Vincent lies on the mat with a cryptic smile on his face. Matt and Jeff celebrate their victory with the crowd while The Righteous look on from the ramp.
Grade: C+
Well, this was weird. TNA had Vincent putting a padlock through Jeff’s earlobe during the build-up to Genesis. Tonight should’ve been their moment.
But no!
Vincent cutting a cryptic promo toward the end of the match has this writer imagining a Jeff Hardy heel turn. Or will it be Matt abandoning the light for The Righteous’ dark side? There are plenty of questions coming out of this tag team title defense at TNA Genesis.
We hear from the TNA X Division Champion
TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater appears via video promo. Slater apologizes for missing TNA iMPACT’s AMC debut as well as TNA Genesis due to “visa issues.” Slater expresses his excitement to see his replacement, Joe Hendry, in action next in the triple threat match.
Leon Slater appeared on WWE SmackDown in the UK last night as Carmelo Hayes’ surprise opponent. Fans can read more on his most recent WWE in-ring appearance here.
Cedric Alexander vs. Joe Hendry vs. Moose
The match paused briefly after Moose landed back-first on the ringside steel steps, prompting medics and TNA President Carlos Silva to come out and check on him.
- The closing sequence saw Cedric Alexander plant Moose with the Lumbar Check before Joe Hendry delivered a Standing Ovation on Cedric for the win.
Winner: Joe Hendry
Grade: A-
Moose took a nasty fall early on, but thankfully, it turned out to be an angle to showcase his resilience. As for the outcome, Joe Hendry winning doesn’t feel like the right call. Hendry is no longer contracted to TNA Wrestling and doesn’t benefit from the win. Moose should have been the pick, especially after the steel steps spot. Also, why did they change Cedric Alexander’s theme song? The previous son was a banger.
Pick your TNA Genesis Main Event winner
TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella is on stage. Marella invites the pre-show panel to come and share their predictions. Ash By Elegance, Dave Lagreca, and Gia Miller all have Mike Santana walking out as the champion in the TNA Genesis main event. It’s Tommy Dreamer’s turn to speak, but he’s interrupted by TNA Director of Operations, “The Suit,” Daria Rae, who confronts the guests before telling production to roll the promo footage.
Mike Santana (c) vs. Frankie Kazarian – TNA World Title Texas Death Match
- The final sequence of the match saw Mike Santana wrap a barbed wire around his arm to hit Frankie Kazarian with a Spin the Block. Santana then pinned Kaz to start the 10-count and emerged as the last man standing to retain his TNA World Championship.
Winner and still TNA World Champion: Mike Santana
After the match, TNA President Carlos Silva presents Santana with his world title. Nemeth raises the champion’s hand, only to take him down with the Zig Zag. Nemeth tries to call his title shot, but Santana responds with another Spin the Block. The show ends with Mike Santana standing tall next to a fallen Nick Nemeth.
Grade: A-
This Texas Death match had some weird rules — you need to pin your opponent every time to start the 10-count. This was the second time in 48 hours that the referee’s hand went for the third count, but TNA didn’t acknowledge the botch. The piledriver and ladder dive were highlights for me. Santana emerged as the last man standing, sending the fans home happy.
Overall Grade: A-
TNA’s first PPV of 2026 did not disappoint. Almost every match on the card delivered. AJ Francis and Rich Swann had a banger of an opener. JDC’s retirement was as epic as it was emotional. The Hardys’ title defense was… disappointing, to say the least. Hendry vs. Moose vs. Alexander was fun to watch. Still gutted they changed Cedric’s theme. As for the main event, it was enjoyable aside from the weird rule and the third-count botch.
