National anthems underway
The national anthems have been sung at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium in St Etienne.
An unbelievable rendition from the Moroccan fans with the stadium sounding like a home game.
They’ll be hoping to make it far into the tournament as they did at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Football about to kick off
We’ll be kicking off the Olympics with two football matches.
Argentina, with a team that contains Julian Alvarez take on Morocco at 2pm.
At the same time will be Uzbekistan vs Spain – as Spain look to add an Olympic gold to their Euros victory.
Rugby Sevens matches today
The rugby sevens will kick off in Paris today.
Sevens has been a part of the Olympics since Rio in 2016.
In the men’s tournament, Fiji won gold, New Zealand won silver and Argentina won bronze in the competition.

Unusual second career
Australian volleyball star Zachary Schubert has an unusual second job to fall back on should his career not work out.
That’s because he has a side hustle running a CRICKET FARM.
He’s CEO of Schubugs – one of the biggest cricket farms in Australia.
And while the crickets are mostly used as bait and pet food – he is looking to make products for human consumption.
So far, he makes smoothies and shakes full of crickets for people to ‘enjoy’.
What other sports kick off before the opening ceremony?
Football gets underway today as well as the Rugby 7s – a new addition to the Olympics.
Tomorrow, we’ll see the handball preliminary rounds begin as well as archery.
Shooting will then begin on Friday before the big opening ceremony.
