Rangers close in on Cifuentes
The 4th Official: Rangers have ‘essentially’ agreed terms with LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes and a bid has been submitted.
The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Ibrox in recent weeks and it now appears a deal is accelerating. The size of the bid is not yet known, but Cifuentes is entering the last six months of his contract with the MLS club and could be available for a reduced price.
The 16-cap Ecuador international made 14 appearances last term, scoring one goal whilst proving four assists.
Other reports suggest the Light Blues aren’t completely free to open talks with Cifuentes until Saturday, 1st July.
Gers face Maja battle

The Bordeaux striker is set to become a free agent upon the expiry of his contract later this month and Beale’s side have been mooted as potential suitors for the 24-year-old.

His goals almost secured his side a return to Ligue 1, however, a pitch invasion on the final day of the campaign meant their fixture with Rodez was abandoned, thus resulting in a defeat as Metz secured a top-flight spot.
Rangers have had multiple bids knocked back by Serie A outfit Cremonese for their forward Cyriel Dessers, with the Italian side thought to be demanding in excess of £6.5m. The Gers are expected to return with another proposal, but if the move collapses, they could turn their focus to Maja, who presents a much cheaper deal to complete.
