Wrestling legend Ric Flair has never been shy about sharing his thoughts, and this time was no different. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer recently opened up about the WrestleMania 42 snub and shared his disappointment with WWE.
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Flair explained why he thinks he didn’t receive an invitation to WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. He believes it goes back to an incident in 2025 involving Ludwig Kaiser, who was dating Tiffany Stratton at the time.
Ric Flair says WWE showed ‘lack of respect’ after WrestleMania 42 snub
Flair admitted things ramped up last year during a situation involving his daughter, Charlotte Flair, before her WrestleMania 41 match. He said he directly contacted Kaiser and even threatened him, which he now accepts was a mistake. According to Flair, that’s the reason WWE didn’t allow him to attend this year.
“I didn’t get invited to WrestleMania this year. I threatened to beat up Tiffany Stratton’s husband last year and I wasn’t allowed to go. A 24-year-old kid being threatened by a 76-year-old man, and I can’t go to WrestleMania? Are you kidding me?” Flair said.
(Flair has addressed Kaiser as Stratton’s husband here. However, they haven’t ever tied the knot.)
Last year, Stratton made some controversial remarks on Charlotte’s divorce, and Ric Flair believes Stratton is “not smart enough to have written” all that by herself.
“Tiffany made smart remarks about Ashley’s divorces, which we both know she’s not smart enough to have written; somebody gave her a script. And then he implied that, I’m just going based on social media, once again, which is a lot, that he was implying that he wouldn’t mind a one-off with Ashley. And I went, ‘Okay, I need your number’. I got it, which I can get anybody’s number I want any minute of any day. And I called him. I said, ‘Hey, when I see you, I’m gonna beat the shit out of you,’” Flair added.
He then suggested that Kaiser may have reported the issue to Triple H, which made things worse. “He (Kaiser) went like a little bitch, told Hunter, and I wasn’t allowed to go,” said Flair.
Even though he wasn’t there, Flair said he still knew what was going on because of his connections. He also added that, in his opinion, someone of his stature should receive more respect.
“Even though I’m not there, I know everything because I know everybody. There should be a red carpet for me, a red carpet to the front row. And that’s how I feel about it. With my contributions to this business and the work that I’ve put in, hours and hours and hours of trying to make wrestling something that it is today, and I’ve got to have problems with politics? Give me a break. Come on. I mean, I’m not mad at anybody, I understand it’s politics now. It’s too much politics and not enough wrestling,” Flair said.
He also shared that Dennis Rodman reportedly wanted Flair to induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame, but Flair says WWE never replied when he reached out.
“Dennis Rodman called me and said, ‘Will you induct me in the Hall of Fame?’ And I sent to the powers that be, ‘Dennis wants me to induct him.’ I never got a call back,” Flair said.
Flair called that a lack of respect. “I think there’s a lack of respect. And I think there’s so many people under fire right now, they’ are all ducking and dodging,” he added.
He also expressed his sorrow for his inability to attend the Hall of Fame induction of Stephanie McMahon, which meant a lot to him given his history with her.
