Roman Reigns has gained some respect for CM Punk after beating him at WWE WrestleMania 42.
After weeks of intense personal shots and physical confrontations, Roman Reigns and CM Punk finally collided in the main event of WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 2. They took each other to their limits. In the end, an exhausted CM Punk fell victim to the OTC, who dug deep to find his last bit of energy and delivered one final Spear to pin the Straight Edge Superstar and capture the World Heavyweight Championship.
Following the win, Roman Reigns appeared on the WrestleMania 42 Post Show and reacted to becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Roman Reigns gave CM Punk his flowers
When Corey Graves asked him if he had gained some respect for CM Punk after a personal rivalry, Roman Reigns said, “The fact that I’m out here as the Tribal Chief, and I can still hear a couple of people calling for CM Punk, you have to respect that. Do I respect the man and his personal life? I don’t know. But when he steps into the arena, when the ring is set up, and the pyro is gonna go off, I got a lot of respect for the man that steps into the arena and performs in front of all these people because he puts his heart, he puts his soul, he puts his physicality on the line.
“Do we see eye to eye? Hell no! Are we cut from the same fabric? Hell no! But at the same time, we’re part of the same fraternity just like you and I. Just like me and (Big) E. There’s very few of us. So when you could go out there and you could main event, and you can put it on the line, and you can actually hold your own, CM Punk didn’t just run his mouth, he backed it up. He just ran into a better man,” Roman Reigns said.
