AEW Collision Results
Tonight’s show kicked off with singles action, as Darby Allin and Clark Connors go back-and-forth in the ring.
Darby Allin vs. Clark Connors
- Darby Allin comes away as the winner here after Allin hit a big neckbreaker. He went for the Coffin Drop, but Connors gets his knee up. Unfortunately, Allin was able to dodge a Spear attempt, then locked in the Scorpion Death Lock for the win.
Winner – Darby Allin
Following the match, Allin took to the mic to talk about the Death Riders. He was promptly attacked by Gabe Kidd from behind. Kidd and Connors then went at Allin, and Kidd said he’d follow Allin anywhere until he ended him.
Grade: B+
A hot start! Allin and Connors was fun, but the ongoing feud between Kidd and Allin is sure to be something to watch for moving forward.
CRU (Lio Rush and Action Andretti) vs. The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz)
- The Rascalz are ready to make a splash in AEW, and they do so with a big win. The match ended after Zachary Wentz went for a moonsault and Dezmond Xavier shoved him in mid-air to get him onto Action Andretti for the win.
Winners – The Rascalz
Grade: B+
Another great match, it was good to see The Rascalz score a big win here, and really hope we see more of CRU going forward, they’re an underrated group in the elite AEW tag division.
Backstage, Jon Moxley responds to Konosuke Takeshita’s challenge from last week. He believes Takeshita is one of the few wrestlers in the world he understands due to the drive they have. Moxley said he thought Takeshita was a good man, but Takeshita proved him wrong last week by having goons attack him. Now, Moxley says that if The Don Callis Family is looking to start a war, Moxley is all for it.
Orange Cassidy & Toni Storm vs. Gino Medina & Lady Bird Monroe
- Cassidy continues his antics here in the match, even to Lady Bird when she got involved. He delivered some slow kicks to her shin before letting Toni Storm handle things. The duo won after Storm hit a tornado DDT on Medina, and then sent him into an Orange Punch for the win.
Winners – Orange Cassidy & Toni Storm
Following the match, Wheeler Yuta ran into the match to go after Cassidy, and Marina Shafir joined in to go after Storm. Shafir locked Cassidy in a full nelson, then Yuta grabbed a mic and said he wanted to interview Cassidy. He said OC said a lot of lies about him, and wants to know how he feels now.
Cassidy then took a shot at Yuta’s “garbage hair,” causing Yuta to go find a pair of scissors and try to cut OC’s. Storm then came in, hit Shafir with a suplex, and motioned at Yuta with the scissors. She took to the mic and said that they picked the wrong duo to mess with, and challenged them to a hair vs. hair match at AEW Grand Slam.
Grade: B
The match itself was fine, but the real fun came after. A mach at AEW Grand Slam between the four would be a ton of fun, and with so much on the line, there’s even more to watch for.
AEW TNT Championship Match: Mark Briscoe (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa
- In an absolute stunner, Ciampa came through and won his first AEW match in grand fashion. Toward the end of the match, Ciampa and Briscoe went back and forth with some big moves. Ciampa won after taking a Froggy Bow, but avoiding a Jay Driller. Ciampa then hit a huge running knee on a dazed Briscoe to capture the title.
Winner – Tommaso Ciampa
After the match, Kyle Fletcher comes out to point at Ciampa, signaling who his next opponent might be.
Grade: A
Wow, what a match! Ciampa winning is huge for his start in AEW, and the two put on an absolutely great show on top of it. It’s unclear what Briscoe’s future holds, but his run as champion was fun, and now we’ll see what Ciampa can do as a big dog in the company.
Backstage, Josh Alexander is talking as The Don Callis Family beat up a bunch of people in the background. Alexander says that Moxley should mind his own business when talking about Takeshita being too good for them. He then said that Mark Davis would face Adam Page ahead of AEW Grand Slam.
AEW International Championship Match: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Adam Priest
- Okada seemed like the easy favorite here, but Priest didn’t make it easy for him. The two went at it, but eventually Okada walked away as the winner after hitting a massive powerbomb on Priest, followed by a Rainmaker, for the win.
Winner – Kazuchika Okada
Grade: B
This one wasn’t as great as the TNT Championship match, but it was surprisingly fun! Priest really held his own here, which is something I don’t think many assumed might happen in a match like this one.
Backstage, Eddie Kingston and Ortiz say they’ll be teaming up with The Rascalz in an eight-man parking lot brawl against Grizzled Young Veterans, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith. Kingston and The Rascalz joke about Kingston needing “medicine” as well.
Backstage, Ciampa is celebrating with his family and his new goldie. Ciampa said that nothing would happen without his family, and credited them with the decision to move to AEW. He then thanked the AEW crowd, and shared his respect for Mark Briscoe. He said he’s heard forever that AEW is the place where the best wrestlers in the world are, and he’s already a champion. With that, he told the belt he loved it, and said his daughter had a new big sister to go celebrate with.
AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Match: Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) (c) vs. Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue)
- The Babes of Wrath continue to own the AEW women’s tag team division. They win this one thanks to some big action late by Cameron. She hit Blue with a Crucifix Driver, then hits a big neckbreaker combo on her for the win.
Winners – Babes of Wrath
After the match, Thekla comes out and attacks the Babes of Wrath. Kris Statlander comes out to make the save, and Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne join in to make it a moot point. Statlander and the Babes of Wrath are no match for the group, and the heels end the night by taking the group down and posing in the ring.
Grade: A
Another really great match to close out the show, followed by some classic shenanigans late.
AEW Collision Review:
All in all, this was a surprisingly great episode of Collision. Packed with a bunch of title matches that all mattered, and set the stage for some big stuff in the future. We’ll see what the future holds for some of the stars going forward, but AEW has set the stage for a great road to some of its biggest shows.
Grade: A
