It’s been a wild week for Trey Miguel, who was signed to and released from AEW in just a week’s time. In a recent post on social media, Miguel thanked TNA for welcoming him back following his surprise return.
For those unaware, Miguel and the rest of his group The Rascalz signed with AEW last week. However, in a surprise move, Miguel was released from the company just a few days after signing on with them. Reports noted that his release came from above Tony Khan. The move also reportedly had something to do with previous homophobic remarks Miguel made on social media in 2020 in what looked to be an effort to “troll” people.
Miguel apologized for the remarks shortly after reports surfaced. In a post, he noted he had “made a lot of mistakes” but tried to be a better person going forward. Last night at TNA’s Thursday Night Impact show, Miguel popped up. In his return, he took home one of the briefcases in TNA’s “Feast or Fired” match. In a post on Instagram following his return, Miguel thanked TNA for welcoming him back. He also noted he went through a tough week following his exit from AEW.

“I felt like my dream died as quickly as it was realized,” said Miguel. “But it’s in moments like this that god will show you how strong you actually are. But if it weren’t for the support system that God has blessed me with I don’t know if I would have been able to turn that decision around.”
Miguel also thanked the company for their support. He said that he now plans on continuing to show the world what he’s made of, and that he’s still just thankful to have the opportunity to perform.
“Words can’t describe how eternally grateful I am for [TNA Wrestling] for saving this dream for me,” Miguel said. “And to the ones who encouraged me to stick it out I will forever be in debt to. If you supported me through this, I love you. If you didn’t, I still love you. There’s no room in my heart for hate. Now with that being said I have to show the world what I’m made of and I’m just thankful to still have that opportunity.”
