Matt Hardy has high praise for a recent WWE RAW match.
WWE legend and reigning TNA World Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy took to X/Twitter to praise the John Cena vs. Dominik Mysterio match from the latest episode of RAW.
Matt Hardy encouraged aspiring pro wrestlers to watch the match, claiming it “represents the true essence of pro wrestling.” The post read:
“For aspiring pro wrestlers.. Watch the John Cena vs Dominik Mysterio from RAW on Monday. That match represents the true essence of pro wrestling – Creating & maximizing emotional investment from your audience. THAT is what matters in excelling in the art pro wrestling, not star ratings or cagematch reviews.”
This week’s episode of RAW featured John Cena’s final appearance as a wrestler in his hometown of Boston. Cena defeated Dominik Mysterio at the event to capture the Intercontinental Championship, the one title that evaded him throughout his career, and also became a grand slam champion in the process.
Speaking in a recent episode of his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy addressed the possibility of him and Jeff Hardy returning to WWE for one last run.
Matt Hardy stated that he’d like to see him and his brother spend more time in TNA, but also appear in WWE as legacy acts on RAW, SmackDown, and NXT.
“I think in a perfect world to optimize stuff, I would like to see myself and Jeff spend a little more time with TNA,” Matt Hardy said. “And I would like to see this partnership grow a little bit, because I think WWE looks at us as legacy acts. We were WWE, born and bred. And maybe we do stick our heads back in NXT, do another little run there. Maybe we stick our heads into RAW, do a small run there. Or maybe we stick our heads in a SmackDown, do a small run there.
“I definitely think there is a lot of interesting, exciting stuff that can be done. Especially if we are used as novelty acts. I think that’s where Jeff and I are at the best if doing something for WWE, if we come in like a novelty act.”
