WWE has filed a trademark for a new Bloodline-related moniker.
WWE filed to trademark the phrase ‘Tribal Heir’ with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on November 6.
The application is awaiting assessment and is not yet assigned to WWE. The status description reads, “The trademark application has been accepted by the Office (has met the minimum filing requirements) and has not yet been assigned to an examiner.”
The Bloodline saga has been going on for years now and has taken many forms, with Solo Sikoa currently running his own version of the faction on SmackDown with his MFTs.
It could be related to Solo Sikoa, as Roman Reigns called him The Tribal Heir on the December 15, 2023, episode of SmackDown. However, fans will have to wait to find out what WWE has actually planned for the moniker.
Chris Jericho Recently Abandoned A Trademark Amid WWE Return Speculations
With speculations running wild about him potentially leaving AEW to return to WWE, Chris Jericho abandoning a trademark has basically added more fuel to the fire.
Chris Jericho filed to trademark the term ‘The Jericho Vortex’ with the USPTO in April 2014. Some of Jericho’s critics coined the term, pointing out that throughout his AEW run, wrestlers who worked with Jericho got dragged into a lengthy, unnecessary feud with him.
The former WWE Undisputed Champion had filed the trademark, intending to use it for merchandise and storyline purposes. However, the USPTO website stated that the application was officially dead as of October 20.
The current status description reads:
“This trademark application was refused, dismissed, or invalidated by the Office and this application is no longer active.
“Abandoned because no Statement of Use or Extension Request timely filed after Notice of Allowance was issued. To view all documents in this file, click on the Trademark Document Retrieval link at the top of this page.”
