TNA iMPACT Results

We get a recap of last week’s show featuring the brawl between Trick Williams and Mike Santana and the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship main event between The Elegance Brand and The IInspiration.

Trick Williams kicks off TNA iMPACT

The TNA World Champion is in the building. Trick Williams hypes up the BFG main event before putting himself over as Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan and Mike Tyson all in one place at the same time. Williams focuses his attention on his BFG opponent, Mike Santana. He tells Santana that TNA will forever be called TrickNA.

Santana’s music hits. He appears from the crowd with a mic in his hand. Santana tells Trick he hasn’t fought through the battles Santana has survived. Mike says he had to carry the weight of the world while he was trying to identify his father’s body in the morgue. He talks about the suffering that came with substance abuse. Santana tells Trick he prevailed in the face of hardships. For Santana, failure is not an option. Trick tells Santana he’ll be bound for rehab after Williams beats him at Bound For Glory.

Mike says Trick’s words don’t hurt him. He calls Trick a pretender, a one trick pony that Santana has to put away at Bound For Glory. Santana says Trick will be bound for developmental after he gets through him and brings back the TNA World Championship at Bound For Glory. Santana’s music hits again as the two engage in a staring contest to cap off the opening segment on TNA iMPACT.

Matt Cardona vs. Ryan Nemeth

  • The finish of the match saw Cadona plant Nemeth with the Radio Silence for the win.

Winner: Matt Cardona

Grade: B+

A solid opening match between Cardona and Nemeth. This writer just loves to see little bro Ryan get his butt kicked all over the place. Big Brother Nic tried to provide the distraction but was caught by the referee. The opening was everything Cardona needed to hit the Radio Silence on Ryan for the win.

The Rascalz in the treehouse

The Rascalz discuss not having a match at TNA Bound For Glory. Zachary Wentz references that they contracts are coming up. Myron Reed says there’s only one spot at Bound For Glory for the three of them. He proposes talking to Santino. Wentz is reluctant because Santino’s got the cobra but agrees at the last second.

JDC vs. Mustafa Ali

  • The finish of the match saw Ali plant JDC with the 450 for the win after a chokebomb on the apron by Agent Zero.

Winner: Mustafa Ali

After the match, Ali and the rest of Order 4 try to celebrate but The System emerge from behind with chairs in their hands. The post-match segment ends with The System standing tall inside the ring.

Grade: A-

An excellent preview of things to come in the Hardcore War between Order 4 and The System at TNA Bound For Glory. Ali had an incredible match against Ethan Page at Showdown this past Tuesday. He just proved again why he’s one of the more consistent performers in the business. As for JDC, this writer sometimes forgets just how fluid he is between the ropes.

TNA Knockouts Title match contract signing

Santino Marella is in the ring. The TNA Director of Authority hypes up the Knockouts Title match at Bound For Glory. The challenger is up first. Indi Hartwell enters the ring and does her hug/handshake thing with Marella. TNA Knockouts World Champion Kelani Jordan arrives. Santino asks the competitors for their comments but the Personal Concierge interrupts.

PC says he’s invoking the TNA Tag Team Championship rematch clause at TNA Bound For Glory. He asks Santino to sign the contract. Marella does and PC steps back to read the contract. Indi Hartwell tells Kelani she has what Indi has been fighting to get for so long. Kelani says she’s not here to bash TNA. She wants to elevate the title and the Knockouts Championship. The champion recalls her history with Indi but they’ll have to put their friendship aside at Bound For Glory.

Indi says she won’t let her friends and family down at Bound For Glory. Hartwell signs the contract before telling Kelani may the best woman win. Jordan puts pen to paper. The match is official. It will be Kelani Jordan versus Indi Hartwell for the TNA Knockouts World Championship match at Bound For Glory this Sunday.

Hardys vs. Team 3D TNA Bound For Glory hype package

The TNA X Division hits the stage ahead of his title defense at Bound For Glory. Slater says this has been the maddest and by far the best year of his life, to the point he pinches himself every time he wakes up to see if it is real. He recalls his tough beginnings. Professional wrestling became his escape. The crowd stars chanting “TNA.” Slater says he’s been on a roll. He recalls his achievements before hyping up BFG.

Slater says it’s a chance for him to carry forward a legacy that was built by people like Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, and AJ Styles. Leon says it’s a chance for him and TNA fans to defend their turf against outsiders like Je’Von Evans. Slater says the TNA X Division Championship means more than a piece of gold to him. He says Evans is mistaken if he things he can just walk into Bound For Glory and claim the X Division Championship for himself.

TNA Bound For Glory Updated Card

Hannifan and Rehwoldt preview the Bound For Glory card. Haniffan says the kickoff show will begin at 6pm EST with the first 30 minutes set for the TNA Hall of Fame ceremony. The IInspiration versus The Elegance Brand for the TNA Knockouts World Championship will also take place on the pre-show.

  • TNA World Championship: Trick Williams (c) vs. Mike Santana
  • Tables Match for the TNA and NXT Tag Team Titles: The Hardys (c) vs. Team 3D
  • TNA Knockouts World Championship: Kelani Jordan (c) vs. Indi Hartwell
  • TNA International Championship: Frankie Kazarian (c) vs. Steve Maclin
  • TNA X-Division Championship: Leon Slater (c) vs. Je’Von Evans
  • Hardcore War: The System vs. Order Four
  • Gia Miller vs. Tessa Blanchard
  • Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match

Joe Hendry vs. Eric Young – No DQ

  • The finish of the match saw Eric Young spike Joe Hendry with a piledriver on a steel chair for the win.

Winner: Eric Young

Grade: B+

The action felt underwhelming. The finish was abrupt. TNA are dragging this whole cleansing shtick involving Eric Young and Joe Hendry. It appears we’ll get answers either at Bound For Glory or on the post-PPV episode of TNA iMPACT.

Overall Grade: B+

A solid go-home episode of TNA iMPACT for Bound For Glory. JDC versus Mustafa Ali was arguably the match of the night. The Hardys versus Team 3D hype package was just brilliant. Hopefully, their match will live up to the hype. This writer doesn’t expect them to recreate the action from MSG all those years ago. Their bodies are too old for all those insane bumps. That’s it for tonight’s coverage of TNA iMPACT and I’ll see you guys same time, next week.

How would you rate tonight’s episode of TNA iMPACT on a scale of 1 to 10? Let us know in the comments!
