In a weekend of second half comebacks, Cameron Redpath, Finn Russell, Joe Cokanasiga, Will Stuart and Thomas du Toit were all in international action.
Redpath and Russell assisted Scotland to an emphatic win over France after going 3-21 down at half-time.
Captaining the side for the first time, it was Russell who got the first points on the board within the fourth minute.
Leaving the sheds revitalised for a second crack at Les Bleus, Russell landed a cross field kick in the hands of Darcy Graham who dived over to take Scotland within reaching distance of the visitors.
Converting a second Scottish try through Pierre Schoeman, Russell took the team to within just four points with just under 30 minutes left on the clock, which also saw the introduction of Redpath from the bench.
With a third try added by Dave Cherry, Russell missed the conversion to add the extra two. However, after receiving an offside penalty at the 73rd minute, Russell took Scotland ahead to 25-21.
With Scotland winning a priceless turnover with the clock in the red, Murrayfield erupted, much to the delight of the Scots both on and off the pitch.
Scotland face a rematch against the French on their home turf at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Étienne on Saturday 12 August (KO 20:00).
Head Coach, Gregor Townsend, has retained Josh Bayliss, Redpath and Russell in a reduced World Cup training squad ahead of his official squad announcement later this month.
Over in Cardiff, Cokanasiga donned the 11 jersey for England in their World Cup warm-up against Wales.
With the game being tryless at the half and leading 9-6, England delivered a slightly more dominant performance of the first 40, with Stuart dealing big hits on the Welsh pack.
Unable to get through the Welsh defence, a product of reinstated Head Coach Warren Gatland, England suffered in the second 40 minutes, with the Welshmen twice getting over the try-line.
Cokanasiga was able to show what he was made of with ball in hand after a ferocious hand-off on Rio Dyer and side-stepping himself over the gainline.
However, Steve Borthwick’s side left the Welsh capital defeated 20-9, much to the elation of the Welsh fans.
England will face a rematch against Wales on their home turf of Twickenham on Saturday 12 August (KO 17:30).
Stuart and Ollie Lawrence were today named in Borthwick’s Rugby World Cup squad to head to France.
Thomas du Toit was also in action for South Africa down in Buenos Aires taking on Los Pumas.
With his team 3-10 down at half-time, the Springboks came back out at the half to score 21 points to the Argentinian’s three.
With a well-worked set-piece, the Boks were able to shut the Pumas out of the second half with their defensive efforts, seeing the hosts unable to break through.
The Boks’ scrum, with help from du Toit, put the Pumas’ pack under pressure to complete a dominant performance and see the visitors close the game 13-24.
