Hulk Hogan has stayed active outside of professional wrestling, including involvement in politics, where he voiced his support for President-elect Donald Trump. He even came back on WWE television during RAW’s Netflix debut on January 6 and fans wonder whether he will come back for a major storyline later. However, it seems there is one topic Hogan will not engage with as part of a WWE storyline.
According to Daily Mail, Hulk Hogan is open to various storylines in WWE, but anything involving Donald Trump is off-limits. Both WWE and Hogan prefer to avoid mixing politics with wrestling. While Hogan supports Trump, he has no plans to incorporate that into his WWE appearances.
“He’s open to almost anything, but one story that won’t be used is anything that deals with Trump. Both the WWE and Hogan don’t want to go that road and make things political. Hogan supports Trump, but he’s not going to mix that support with anything he is doing in the WWE.”
It was previously reported that WWE has discussed the possibility of turning Hulk Hogan into a heel during his next television appearance. If fans boo him again, he’ll fully embrace it and fully a heel. This change will also be part of a new storyline with another wrestler, giving Hogan an important role that matches what fans want.
WWE is keeping politics out of Hulk Hogan’s storylines to make sure he stays important to the shows without upsetting fans, so it’s ultimately something that will benefit both Hogan and the company in the end.
Regardless, we’ll have to see when Hogan will make his return to television and begin a new storyline, as there are many people who want to see him involved in an angle despite the negative reception he received during RAW this week.
