On June 30, WWE taped WWE SmackDown at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for July 4. These matches will air on Friday’s episode.

WWE SmackDown for July 4:
- Cody Rhodes to the ring to start WWE SmackDown. He is interrupted by Randy shortly after. Orton admitted he hesitated to complete the punt kick on Cody. Says Cody pulled the trigger, and Orton respects that. Randy makes Cody promise him he will take down Cena at SummerSlam.
Drew McIntyre returns on WWE SmackDown
- Drew McIntyre interrupts both Cody and Randy. He mocks the respect they have for each other. Tries to get them to turn against each other. Eventually eats an RKO from Randy.
- Charlotte Flair with Aldis backstage. Aldis proposes Charlotte go after the tag titles with Bliss in a #1 contender match against Secret Hervice. Flair eventually gives in and accepts the proposal.
- Backstage with McIntyre and Aldis. Drew gets a match with Randy Orton next Saturday in Atlanta at SNME. Fatu comes face to face with Aldis. It’s announced that Fatu and Big Jim will have a tag match against 2 members of Solo’s stable tonight.
- Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss defeated The Secret Hervice and the team of Michin & B-Fab
- Backstage with Aldis and the entire tag division, except the Wyatts. He’s making one member of each of the 4 teams team up to wrestle the Wyatts tonight.
- The Wyatt Sicks defeated Johnny Gargano, Berto, Montez Ford, and Chris Sabin
- Tiffany Stratton is out to talk. Addresses her match with Jade at SummerSlam but also wants to defend her title at WWE Evolution. Jade interrupts. Tiffany reveals she wants to defend against Trish Stratus. Trish comes out and accepts. They exchange some words.
- Andrade and Rey Fenix defeated Fraxiom
- Backstage with Priest and Aleister. Priest tries to explain R-Truth’s side of things and says there was a match made next week between Truth and Black. Tensions start to boil over between Priest and Aleister.
- Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso defeated Solo Sikoa and JC Mateo
