Velveteen Dream faced allegations that sent the hashtag #FireVelveteenDream trending whenever he appeared on television, which resulted in his release from WWE in 2021. Dream still feels he was unfairly fired by WWE, and now it appears he is threatening to ruin professional wrestling.
The former WWE Superstar took to his Instagram and uploaded a video, where he said social media has been crazy, but he’s used to it. What he really wants is his job back in wrestling. He said he didn’t lose it because he was bad at wrestling but because people online, especially in the Internet Wrestling Community, spread lies about him. Since wrestling isn’t real, he thinks it makes sense that fans enjoy fake stories and drama too.
Dream said all of this has really hurt him, and now he wants others to feel the same pain. He believes that if he can’t have wrestling, then nobody should. He’s angry that people are comparing him to Chris Benoit, a wrestler who killed his family. He said he’s not a killer, but warned that if people keep pushing him, he’ll “kill” wrestling by ruining it for everyone.
“It’s been a whirlwind on social media lately. But honestly, I’m kind of used to that at this point in my life. I want my job back — and I have no shame in saying that. I didn’t lose my job because I sucked, unlike some people. I lost it because of this thing called the IWC — the Internet Wrestling Community — and they love to spread fake news. Wrestling is fake, so it makes sense that people who love fake chaos would keep feeding into it.
But I just want you to know: this has really, really affected me. And since I’ve been affected, I feel it’s only right that I affect you back. It’s called cause and effect, you know? Because if Patrick Clark can’t have pro wrestling, I don’t think anybody should.
They’re actually going so far as to compare me to Chris Benoit. Calling me the most hated man in wrestling and lumping me in with a murderer. Benoit killed people. I’m not a killer. But don’t push me — because if you push hard enough, I’ll kill pro wrestling for you.”
Dream talked about his old character and said the “third eye” part wasn’t just for show. He claimed he knows things about popular wrestlers that fans still watch today and he might expose their secrets.
In the end, he said fans had already made their choice by turning on him, so now he plans to ruin wrestling completely. Dream made it clear he doesn’t want anyone to enjoy it if he can’t be part of it.
“That “third eye” you saw in Velveteen Dream? It wasn’t just a gimmick. Patrick Clark has seen a lot and knows a lot about the people you love. People you still watch on TV today. So the choice is yours — and you’ve already made it. I’m going to ruin pro wrestling for you. I’m going to expose this business. And hopefully, none of us can have it anymore.”
This comes after he recently went after his critics and even claimed he is better than WWE stars despite his 5-year absence. Velveteen Dream’s angry threats could destroy any chances he had of coming back. Therefore, we’ll have to see what he will end up doing next.
