Olympian Steph Davis has had a tough couple of years so good to see her back winning races again.
That happened in the Brampton to Carlisle 10-Mile race on Sunday with a sub 55-minute run to win the Women’s race in 54.51.
It was a strong Scottish performance overall with Steph Pennycook taking second place in the race and Katy Barden fourth overall to win the Masters age category.

There were three cross country league meetings around Scotland on Saturday – with strong turnouts in Evanton (North League), Dundee (East League) and Kilmarnock (West League).
The Kilmarnock meet was the first event in the second season of the West League with the other two very well estrablished over many years.
Great to see strong finisher numbers at each location.

Dundee Hawkhill Harriers hosted the East League XC meeting at Camperdown Park on Saturday.
Jamie Crowe (Central) won Men’s race and led Central AC to first team on the day. Hannah Cameron (Aberdeen AAC) won Women’s race with Edinburgh AC winning the women’s team race.
There were 708 finishers on a great – but wet – day of cross country with the East League getting back to pre-Covid numbers.

In the North League at Evanton, there were 95 Finishers in Men’s race which is a Record. This was in a joint race with 51 Women.

The West event in Kilmarnock had a turnout of 441 athletes across the various ages via a great response from the clubs.
Pleased to say it looks like we had 441 participants across our event yesterday, which made it – just – the largest West league event so far. Not bad given the weather!
