AEW Collision Results:

Tag team action to start the show

Powerhouse Hobbs & Tomohiro Ishii vs. Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher

  • This one ends with Takeshita hitting Hobbs with a big blue thunder bomb. Afterward, Fletcher hits a piledriver on Ishii and follows it up with a brainbuster for the win.

Winner: Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher

Grade: B

Overall, it’s a pretty packed show, this felt more like a filler match more than anything. The end was filled with some awesome moves, though. Wish we would’ve saw a little more chaotic moments, though, but otherwise enjoyable.

Max Caster hosts his open challenge

Caster is in the ring and bragging about how no one wants to come face him. He said the fans love to chant his name, and called out anyone to come face him. Mark Briscoe’s music hits, and a shocked and angered Caster watched as Briscoe came down to accept the challenge.

Max Caster vs. Mark Briscoe

  • Briscoe absolutely handles Caster here, and wins with a massive Jay Driller for the win. Caster did put up some defense though, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Winner: Mark Briscoe

Grade: C

Well, this was certainly something. The Max Caster challenges have been fun and his back-and-forth with the crowd is definitely funny enough. Briscoe coming in and getting a quick win was nice to see, too, but this was overall a whole lot of nothing.

Top Flight and CRU go at it

Top Flight vs. CRU

  • This one ended with Dante and Darius securing the win.

After the match, a clearly enraged Andretti and Rush kept attacking after their loss. AR Fox comes running down to make the save, and out comes Nick Wayne to join in for the save. Tony Khan makes it official now, a Trios Match will place tomorrow at AEW Dynasty’s Zero Hour pre-show.\

Winner: CRU

Grade: B

As far as matches go, this one was enjoyable, but the end is what made it exciting. Setting up a big Trios match for tomorrow was worth the rest of it, and seeing all six stars at Dynasty’s pre-show will be great.

Adam Cole and Daniel Garcia sit down

The pair are sitting at a table with the TNT Championship on it. Cole praises Garcia as being a “damn good” champion, but said he hasn’t changed much. He’s confused, Cole said, because he thinks he’s going to win at AEW Dynasty. Cole says Garcia has never beaten him, and if he had five extra seconds last time, he’d be the champion. With Cole’s 17-year wrestling anniversary coming up, he says it’s his destiny to win at Dynasty.

Garcia talking now, and says he’s got respect for Cole for all he’s done. However, Garcia said he’s given Adam plenty of opportunities to beat him, and there won’t be any more going forward. The reigning TNT champ said Cole’s had 17 years of chances, and now the next 17 years belong to him.

Cole asks those in the room to leave so he can talk to Garcia alone. He tells Garcia that even though he respects him, Daniel isn’t ready to lead a company on his own. He tells Garcia he’s not even ready to be champion, and with that, Garcia leaves.

Cash Wheeler vs. PAC

  • PAC and Cash Wheeler came to an end after Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta got involved. They showed up to distract the superstars, but was quickly interrupted by Cope. PAC then scored a crucifix pin to win.

Winner: PAC

After the match, Cope and Cash Wheeler offered a hand to Dax Harwood, who had also arrived and taken a big punch from Yuta.

Grade: B-

This one felt like another set up for AEW Dynasty. The match itself was fun, but getting multiple matches that haven’t done much is kind of frustrating. The nature of a go-home show, though!

“Speedball” Mike Bailey takes to the ring

“Speedball” Mike Bailey vs. Dralístico

  • In this hyper athletic match, it’s Bailey who walks out the winner. The match ends after Bailey hits a spinning heel kick followed by a tornado kick to drop Dralístico and win.

After the match, Ricochet — who was at ringside for commentary — gives a low blow to Bailey. He then hits a Spirit Gun Strike to drop Bailey and send a big message to the star.

Winner: “Speedball” Mike Bailey

Grade: B+

Probably the most fun match of the night so far! Bailey and Dralístico are just so athletic, anytime they can both get into the ring, you know you’re going to be in for a good one.

Backstage, Thunder Rosa and Kris Statlander are arguing about their Owen Hart Cup Tournament match. The tensions continue to brew before things devolve into a shoving match, which ends with a slap from Rosa and a warning from Statlander.

Mercedes Moné in the main event

  • Mercedes Moné & Harley Cameron vs. Athena & Julia Hart This one ends in chaos, as Harley tries to hit her finishing move on Hart, but Julia counters. Moné tries to make the save late, but Athena stops her. In a surprise move, Moné backs out of the fight to avoid Athena, and Harley is submitted by Hart.

Winner: Athena & Julia Hart

Grade: B+

This was a great closer, and Moné essentially backing out of helping Harley was an awesome way to finish the match with a big day for all involved going forward in the Owen Hart Cup Tournament.

AEW Collision Review:

All in all, this was another pretty solid show! A go-home show like tonight is bound to not be filled with much, but there were still some awesome moments. The main event was a ton of fun, and Dralístico’s match with Mike Bailey was another highlight of the show. At the end of the day, a solid show before a huge day tomorrow with AEW Dynasty.

Grade: B
