Local soccer players honored – Portland Press Herald

Whereas normal convention all-star groups aren’t being named this fall (though some schools have chosen just a few people as all-stars), the Maine Soccer Coaches’ Affiliation final week did select All-Area and All-State groups for the 2020 season.

And to no particular person’s shock, many standouts from Forecaster Nation had been honored.

All-Area picks

Falmouth’s Devin Quinn earned a spot on the Southern A women’ All-Area staff. 

The Southern Maine Class A women’ staff included Cheverus junior ahead Julia Kratzer, Falmouth senior as soon as extra Izzy Dyer, senior midfielder Devin Quinn and junior goalkeeper Jordan Wolf, Portland senior ahead Toni Stevenson and Scarborough senior as soon as extra Lily Davis, sophomore ahead Ali Mokriski and senior ahead Grace Pettingill.

The Southern Class B squad featured Cape Elizabeth junior midfielder Maggie Cochran, senior as soon as extra Sami Olsen and junior ahead Emily Supple, Freeport senior midfielder Carly Intraversato and senior ahead Rachel Wall, Greely senior as soon as extra Hannah Cornish, Morse senior as soon as extra Meghan Clifford and Yarmouth senior midfielder Parker Harnett.

The Southern Class D squad included North Yarmouth Academy junior as soon as extra Eliza Chace, sophomore midfielder Angel Huntsman and junior midfielder Jasmine Huntsman.

Brunswick senior midfielder Emma Banks and junior goalkeeper Ainsley Snell had been named to the Northern Class A staff.

On the boys’ aspect, the Southern Class A squad featured Deering senior midfielder Ben Chatterjee, Falmouth senior midfielders Rion Dos Santos and Sam Gearan and senior ahead Gus Ford, Portland senior as soon as extra Max Cheever and senior goalkeeper Henry Flynn and Scarborough senior ahead Zach Chaisson, sophomore ahead Zander Haskell and senior midfielder Ryan Stimson.

The Southern Class B staff included Cape Elizabeth senior ahead Nick Clifford, Freeport senior midfielder Cam Sturdy, Greely senior midfielder Lucas Goettel and senior as soon as extra Jonathon Piesik, Morse senior as soon as extra Maxon Brochu and Yarmouth junior midfielder Steve Fulton, senior midfielder Baden McLaughlin and senior as soon as extra Evan Van Lonkhuyzen.

In Southern Class C, Waynflete senior backs Ben Adey and Aidan Kieffer and senior midfielder Joey Ansel-Mullen had been honored.

In Southern Class D, NYA junior goalkeeper Michael Belleau and Greater Portland Christian Faculty senior as soon as extra Micah LaSalle and senior midfielder Owen Mann had been chosen.

Mt. Ararat’s Jonah Zell made the Northern A boys’ All-Area squad.  

In Northern Class A, Brunswick senior as soon as extra Luke Cheseldine and senior midfielder Lane Foshee, together with Mt. Ararat senior as soon as extra Jonah Zell, had been honored.
