2025 Lindsays Trophy Tables (2)

Edinburgh AC are leading the way in the race for the Lindsays Trophy for the 2024-25 season.

We piloted a new three-division structure for this event which focuses on participation at three national events in the Lindsays Cross Country Season.

And we are delighted to update now after Cumbernauld and Kirkcaldy – with much to play for at Falkirk in February.

Clubs with at least one competitor in our Lindsays national events are streamed into three tiers to compete against clubs with similar levels of participation in cross country.

The top two leagues have 20 clubs and the third tier currently features another 36 clubs

It is very encouraging to therefore see 76 clubs already involved in the first two events – the Lindsays National XC Relays and the Lindsays Short Course XC – with of course the Lindsays National XC coming up in February.

Edinburgh AC,who were actually fhe very first winners of the trophy back in 2015, lead the way in Tier One for the moment. Fife AC top Tier Two and our leaders in Tier Three are Stirling University AC.

Eight points separate Edinburgh on 126 athletes finished at Cumbernauld and Kirkcaldy from Giffnock North AC on 118. Cambuslang Harriers are third on 91 points.

Completing the top five are Central AC on 90 and Garscube Harriers (on 83 points). Special mention here for Glasgow Uni Hares and Hounds – who are sixth on 75 after winning promotion as our 2024 Tiero Two winners. Great to see this kind of effort from one of our university clubs.

Fife AC have a big advantage in Tier Two on 79 with VP-Glasgow second on 52. Lying third here are Lothian RC on 49 and, similar to Glasgow Uni, that’s a terrific effort after Lothian were promoted as our Tier Three winners last season.

Completing the top four in Tier Two are Carnegie Harriers on 39 points.

Remember, the top four clubs in Tier One and Tier Two win promotion.

There is a strong student story in Tier Three, too, as Stirling Uni AC lead the way on 43 points and looking good for promotion.

Second here are Kirkintilloch Olympians on 28 with Perth Road Runners on 20. Fourth place is shared by Calderglen Harriers and Perth Strathtay Harriers on 19 points.
