That’s even more so than the ongoing dynamic in Philadelphia, where James Harden still hopes to be moved to the LA Clippers, sources said.

Here’s my whacky Buddy Hield trade:
IND: Gordon Hayward, Kai Jones
PHL: Buddy Hield, Colby White
CHA: Lonzo Ball, Dan Theis (+ some draft equity)

A bit of an odd trend I noticed while researching Sixth Man of the Year candidates: Only two of the last 15 winners played for the team that drafted them.
James Harden in 2012.
Tyler Herro in 2022.
For whatever reason, this is the player-movement award. – 4:22 PM

More on this storyline

Woj: “Right now, there have been no conversations between the Sixers and the Clippers [on a James Harden trade].” Zach Lowe: “I don’t think we’ve seen the last of those talks. I have a feeling those talks will be reignited at some point.” ?? -via Twitter / September 20, 2023
Nick Nurse: I do keep a pretty loose lid on the roles if that makes any sense because I think there is guys—there’s some guys maybe they never shot 3-pointer before and they’re not bad and we may need them to shoot more 3s or, or whatever it is. Paul Reed would be a good example for us for that. When we got James (Harden) and (Embiid) Joel out there, there’s gonna be some open 3s. So let’s start to open up their minds a little bit and let’s get working on it, and let’s see what happens. Things like that. -via Sixers Wire / September 18, 2023
Brian Windhorst: The Clippers tried to trade for James Harden, and that deal didn’t happen. And from what I understand, it was the Clippers who said, ‘Okay, there’s no deal here. We’re gonna move on.’ And while I assume that they could certainly make a deal midseason, I assume that this is what they’re gonna go with. -via YouTube / September 17, 2023
