Indoor Miler Meet 2025 Start Lists
Jake Wightman will race in Scotland this weekend as he seeks to start 2025 on a high.
The 2022 World Champion is heading north from his Manchester base to compete in the Scottish 3000m Champs at the Emirates Arena on Saturday.
Glasgow Athletics Association are our host with the afternoon meeting featuring track races from 2pm through to 5pm.
And Jake will be seeking to win the Scottish Senior Men’s title with medals up for grabs on Saturday across Senior and U20 age categories.
The GAA Miler Meet follows the New Year Bash earlier in the day as 2025 kicks off with hundreds of athletics landing the opportunity to return to the Emirates Arena for the first time since 2023.
This time last year, of course, the Glasgow facility was being redeveloped ahead of hosting the 2024 World Indoors.
Three races at 800m will be followed by 11 at 3000m in the afternoon timetable with Jake slated to compete at 4.40pm.
Pacers will be in operation throughout the GAA Miler Meet and Scottish 3000m Champs and we expect the top men’s race to also feature GB international Callum Elson as well as Thomas Keen, Thomas Bridger and James Young. Scottish 4k XC champion, Ben Potrykus of Inverclyde AC, is one of the pace-makers.
Scots set to feature in that race are Peter Bradshaw, Reiss Marshall, Jamie MacKinnon, Callum Tharme and Freddie Carcas.
The Women’s title contenders are liable to involve Elsa Palmer, Sarah Tait, Sarah Calvert and Stefanie Tucker. The 800m races feature Scotland internationals Hannah Cameron and Jill Cherry.
