Jadon Sancho could be a smart buy for Chelsea on two conditions – Talk Chelsea

I’ll try to explain it all to the best of my knowledge in this. But basically, as I have been reporting on here for months now, Chelsea have simply been seeking opportunities this summer and more specifically, opportunities that will help them sell players and move big wages off their books.

Does any seriously think that Joao Felix has been a Chelsea target all summer? I’m pleased we signed him because I do rate him. But he wasn’t a Chelsea target this summer at all, not even in the slightest. But once for whatever reason the over-priced proposed signing of Samu Omorodion, who has miraculously now lost half of his valuation that Atletico Madrid apparently put on him, broke down, then Chelsea needed to find one player to sign from Atletico otherwise they would lose the PSR sale of Conor Gallagher.

It’s basically just what has been happening this summer, with a lot of other clubs as well as Chelsea. They are doing favour for a favour non-official swap deals. Chelsea did it with Aston Villa for Ian Maatsen and Omari Kellyman too.

And that to me is why we are now seeing strong links to Chelsea and Jadon Sancho. The Manchester United winger has not been a Chelsea target this summer, far from it. In fact, SPTC sources heard that his agent offered Sancho to Chelsea at the start of the window and Chelsea turned that opportunity away at the time.

But now there is another opportunity, an opportunity to get one of our higher earners that we actively want to sell off our books. A chance for Chelsea to perhaps move on a Raheem Sterling or a Ben Chilwell, and in return they sign Sancho. Remember, United DO have a keen interest in Chilwell at least, as we reported here last week.

Chelsea don’t dislike Sancho and in fact, he has a very keen admirer on our board in Joe Shields, who does still have a lot of belief in him as per SPTC sources. So Shields would likely back this move if it does happen. And let’s be honest, Sancho certainly has a lot of potential.

As well as this, SPTC sources understand that the Chelsea board and Sancho’s reps already have a very close relationship.

In my opinion, if it meant moving on both of or one of Chilwell or Sterling, then I’d be content taking Sancho. I think like Felix, Sancho has a lot to prove and needs to settle somewhere to really kick on. It wasn’t long ago when the whole Chelsea fan base were desperate to sign Sancho. Yes, his form has dipped and he has struggled since, but I think the ability and talent is still there. I’m not against it.

I’d be against it if it meant we didn’t sign an out and out striker because of this deal, because in my view THIS should be our priority right now and if we ignore this again then I think that’s a huge mistake.

Also, if Sancho does come in then we’d be extremely top heavy and surely Mykhailo Mudryk, who Enzo Maresca clearly isn’t that impressed with, goes out on loan?

It’s not our attack I’m worried about though despite the need to add a number 9 to it for it to be complete, in my view. Our midfield for me still lacks steel, and we also lack an experienced/proven/established centre back who can help control and lead our backline. Also the goalkeeper position of course. Those are my concerns.

The rest of the squad is decent and we have made some good signings. As I said, I think it could be smart to move on a Sterling or a Chilwell and get Sancho in return, IF everything else falls in line with that signing and of course, if the deal/his wages are reasonable.
