AEW Rampage Results

Hikaru Shida and Viva Van Get To Work

Hikaru Shida vs. Viva Van

The opening match of the night saw Shida and Van going at it. Van lands a big kick to Shida’s head for a quick near fall, but Shida was able to recover after a bit and hit a dropkick on Viva. After some more back-and-forth, Van just got out of a Katana attempt from Shida, and hit a big crossbody dive. Shida kicks out, and then hits a big kick followed by the Falcon Arrow for the pin and win.

Winner – Hikaru Shida

Grade: B

Shida and Van are two fun superstars, but this one wasn’t too special. The match didn’t even make it to any commercial break and was a little too quick.

Three-Way Tag Team Match

The Undisputed Kingdom vs. Dark Order vs. The Infantry

The next match up on the docket was a 3-way tag team bout between Undisputed Kingdom, Dark Order, and The Infantry. Alex Reynolds remains injured here and is clearly favoring his ribs, while The Infantry get to work on Mike Bennett as we head to commercial. John Silver eventually found himself tagged in and split up the group, leading to Matt Taven tagging in and absolutely clearing everyone, throwing himself over the ropes and onto everyone in a massive moonsault.

Late in the match, The Undisputed Kingdom was able to pull out the win by hitting a dual finisher on an injured Reynolds for the win. After the match, Brian Cage made his way out to the ring, and Lance Archer attacked Taven and Bennett while they were both distracted. Archer hit the Blackout on Taven, and Bennett is hit with a massive chokeslam to end the segment.

Winner – The Undisputed Kingdom

Grade: B+

The ending of this match kind of saved it for me, as the chaos breaking out was a ton of fun to see. Hopefully, Alex Reynolds’ injury action is over by the time he’s featured next, as it would be nice to see him get involved more in matches than he is now.

Roderick Strong is doing an interview backstage and said he isn’t really too surprised MJF hired the Don Callis family to interfere with the Undisputed Kingdom. Jake “The Snake” Roberts then appeared and told Strong to stay away from The Beast Mortos, as he’s messing things up for LFI, but a match is then booked for the pair at AEW Collision.

Top Flight Goes Up Against JD Drake & The Beef

Top Flight vs. JD Drake & Beef

This one doesn’t last too long here, as Top Flight start the match beating up Drake immediately into a commercial break. When we get back, Drake is still getting the brunt of the offensive, but he would break out of it by hitting a big lariat on Dante and then tag in his partner. In the ring, Darius saves his friend from a Kentucky Meat Shower, and the pair hit a big dual DDT on Beef to get him down for the win. The winning team shook hands with Beef and Drake after the match.

Winner – Top Flight

Grade: B-

This one was over pretty much immediately, so there wasn’t a whole lot here. Top Flight getting the win over Beef was funny, at least.

Lio Rush And Komander Go At It

Lio Rush vs. Komander

The closing match of the night is a repeat from last week, as Lio Rush and Komander spend most of the match going at it with some high-flying moves to start. Komander tries to hit a Shooting Star Press via a tight rope walk, but Komander gets out of the ring to avoid it. Komander kicks out of a Blue Thunder Bomb, then somehow kicks out of an F5-like move to leave Rush angry as all hell.

Rush tried putting the match away with a frog splash, but Komander rolls out of it, and then hits a moonsault press of his own for the near fall. He goes for the tight rope walk again, but Rush once again dodges, Lio then hits a massive kick to Komander to stun him, and finally hits the frog splash for the win.

Winner – Lio Rush

Grade: B+

Rush and Komander know how to put on a show, that’s for sure. Their high-flying moves are a hell of a lot of fun to watch, and it seems as if we’re destined for a third match here between these two, which I’m all for.

AEW Rampage Review

Grade: B

All in all, this was a solid show, but didn’t feature a ton of big or noteworthy stuff. Rush and Komander carried things in the end, although the big 3-way Tag Team Match was a heck of a good time, too.
