WWE has been making headlines with The Rock’s latest power move, offering Cody Rhodes the ultimate reward—if he’s willing to give up his soul. Now, just as that storyline heats up, AEW has jumped on the same theme, with Toni Storm making it clear that she’s walking into AEW Revolution without hers.
After getting blindsided by Mariah May last Saturday, Storm laid out the Hollywood Ending match rules, and this isn’t just another standard fight. “No count-outs, no disqualifications, no rope breaks, and the match can end anywhere,” she stated. But the real kicker came when Storm took things to a whole new level, saying “I will leave my soul at home when we meet at AEW Revolution.”
If that wasn’t enough, she warned Mariah May of what’s coming, saying “If Mariah believes in God, she’s going to meet her.”
The timing of AEW pulling the soul card is impossible to ignore. WWE is currently running one of its biggest storylines with The Rock trying to convince Cody to be his champion—at the cost of his soul. Now AEW is following up with its own twist, as Storm throws everything on the line to take down her former ally.
Is this just a coincidence, or is AEW riding the wave of WWE’s storytelling? Either way, Storm is entering AEW Revolution soulless, and if her words mean anything, she’s dragging Mariah May into that darkness with her.
Do you think AEW is playing off WWE’s storyline, or is this just wrestling being wrestling? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
